I really like this episode as you see some more character growth in both Asuna and Kirito. They are such an interesting pairing here!

She was about to finishg saying "It's all my fault" which is tied deeply to Kirito's trauma. I also love the "do it Sachi" moment. Such a great line that shapes the entire tone of the scene.

2023-08-28 18:57:17 +0000 UTCThis episode, also, shows the start of a change for Kirito. Before, he would always get really upset, or suprised, when someone called him an asshole. Not he's kind of accepted that as who he is.

2023-08-28 18:55:36 +0000 UTCAh and this is the start of the Asuna we know and love in abridged. Original Asuna is cute and sweet and adorable, she’s great too but this Asuna is what’s known in anime as a Yandere. Which is basically a person who doesn’t want their love interest going for anyone else and will violently hurt either the person, her partner, or both.

2023-08-28 01:11:05 +0000 UTCI’m not a fan of harem anime’s in general so I’m glad SAO abridged did more than the original source to minimize those types of interactions even if it’s unavoidable at some points.

2023-08-27 20:06:01 +0000 UTCAnother episode with a voice you might have recognized(though it's obviously a different type of voice than you've heard before) - Lisbeth is played by Megami33(Corinne Sudberg), who did Bulma in DBZ Abridged and Integra in Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.

2023-08-27 20:04:14 +0000 UTCI'll be the first to point this out. The bit with Liz forging the sword is a pretty brilliant joke when you take the state of modern gaming into account, making it a mini(macro?) game inside of a much larger game. And no, it wasn't like that in the show, which makes the joke funnier. Also regarding the "claiming a man is high school behavior" bit, that actually tracks. Kirito was 14 when he full dove into Sword Art Online, and he's been stuck in the game for 2 years around now. Oh, and love triangle? you have no idea. More like anime's worst love parabola

2023-08-27 19:52:04 +0000 UTCI like how the creators made pretty much no changes to the Lisbeth character, she's exactly the same as she is in the original show, so a lot of the comedy to me came from the fact that this episode is basically what would happen if Lisbeth from the original show met with abridged Kitito and Asuna, who are extremely different to their original versions.
