2023-09-29 23:04:46 +0000 UTCLike others have said, Mara did not revive Uldren. The ghost chose him and in that way The Traveler chose him. As for the Seasonal content after this, The Black Armory, Season of the Drifter, and Season of Opulence are not really important(unless you really feel like watching them). You can skip them if you just want to get to the next big expansion which is Shadowkeep. The seasonal content after Shadowkeep is pretty decent including some things leading into Beyond Light.

2023-09-03 11:51:22 +0000 UTCas the others have said, Mara had nothing to do with Uldren's resurrection, that was...well sort of a decision by the Traveler (the ghosts themselves don't really know why they choose certain people). With that being said do remember that when a Ghost revives a person for the first time as a guardian, that person has no memory of who they were or what they did or were like; so is that REALLY Uldren Sov? So do try to keep that in mind for the future :P Now i personally didn't play during Forsaken, i returned in the next expansion Shadowkeep, but i do know that this is where the seasonal model started....i don't think there was too much in terms of actual story telling during those first early seasons; but if there are and you guys are able to watch em then great. Seasonal stories definitely pick up and are more connected and involved during the Shadowkeep expansion if memory serves correct.

2023-09-02 20:12:08 +0000 UTCI’ve been waiting since the beginning to see your reaction to Uldrens resurrection! It was such a shock to players as well. Surprisingly Mara had nothing to do with his resurrection too, it was a Ghost that brought home back, meaning it was the Travelers choice! As he was reborn a guardian, he lost all his memories, which really raised the question as to how responsible he was for what happened in his past life? It was a really cool time for theorising. At the time it was completely unknown if Mara even knew about Uldrens resurrection, and in game, our Guardian had no idea, just us as the player. Not sure if you picked up on it but when Mara says “I dreamt of a friend I will come to have, she will tell me a side must always be taken, even if it’s the wrong side”, we were told the same thing by a certain Exo Stranger in Destiny 1’s main story. Just an interesting point ;). From this point on the seasonal model starts, so Season of the Forge, Season of the Drifter, and Season of Opulence are next. The year following Forsaken was really our guardians edgy emo phase so I’m looking forward to seeing your reaction!

2023-09-02 20:00:23 +0000 UTCSo lots of the storytelling for this part of the game is told in the readable lore instead of the gameplay so I will try to explain(though it's been a while so I may forget some things) Firstly Uldren was resurrected by a ghost just like all the guardians, Mara wasnt involved (you could say the traveller itself chose him to be a guardian) but remember guardians don't remember anything of their past lives so he doesn't know who he was or what he did, he is basically a new person. Also when we killed Riven she said "one wish granted deserves another and I can't wait to show you what she wished for" the "she" referenced is Savathun, Oryx's sister and the Hive god of trickery. She basically met Riven and made a deal with her which led to the curse on the dreaming city where the city is basically living the same 3 weeks over and over. This is really the first time Savathun starts to unveil her schemes and she basically acts as the puppet master for a lot of what's to come. Id recommend watching byfs video on dredgen yor and shin malphur as well, it will provide context on the bit with the drifter as this is kind of a secondary story told throughout the next few seasons.
