I love that you guys are watching this series, as its complexity only heightens the further along you go. This episode is just a taste of that. :)

2023-09-05 06:29:36 +0000 UTCThis is one episode that had some changes that were much appreciated. In particular, how it handles Asuna getting Kirito's help with Kuradeel. In the anime, that "show" she's putting on of being weak and simpering, isn't a show. She really, genuinely acts like that, and then swoons into Kirito's arms when it's all over. All of that just feels... weird when it's attached to a character that is canonically the 2nd in command of the most powerful guild in the game, and is literally in the top three players in the entire game. (Seriously, in terms of authority in the guild, the strongest guild in the game, only one person is more powerful than her.) Which is why I love what SWE did here. They made the whole thing an act that Asuna put on to manipulate Kirito into taking care of Kuradeel in a way she found more personally satisfying than seeing him kicked out of the guild. It's great.

Around that time (i believe for creative differenced) two people, the original voices of Asuna and Ballsy as well as the people playing the IRL roles in episode 3, left Something witty and were replaced by Carrie who now plays the voice of Asuna. Those three, including Mack and Izzy who are the two original members left, now make the core of Something Witty though Chase "Coffinjockey" and Spencer "BuddyVA" also basically belong to the group now. Those 5 also have a pretty fun D&D show every other friday where they did Decent into Avernus and i believe they are still on their second campaign which is call of the Deep.
