I hadn't known it was censored. I remember being pretty disgusted and sad when those scenes took place. It made the next few episodes hit even harder for me. I was under the impression that Kai simply left it out because it was filler. Thanks so much for the information!

2023-09-12 23:12:02 +0000 UTCI’m glad they did. At least, from a reaction standpoint. But they miss a lot in the intro. Like the “M,” Goku being the one to go SS3, so it should be fine. Also, I like how recently Ken caught something interesting in the opening, and right when I was wondering if they would catch it.

2023-09-12 23:08:46 +0000 UTCInteresting little tidbit. In the original version of this episode (and the original manga), there is a now deleted scene. There is a random rich guy (accompanied by what is seemingly his family's butler) who decide to use Majin Buu's spree of destruction as an excuse to kill people for the thrill (since people will think it's Buu that killed them). It's a really really dark scene and it was removed from every international TV airing of the episode back in the day and all versions of Kai. The only way to watch it these days is through the original Z dvds or blurays. 2023-09-12 22:10:05 +0000 UTCThis is the part of the arc where I feel like Toriyama subverts a lot of what people were likely expecting. I actually love these next couple of episodes. I do, also, love how that speech from the narrator is all just a pretense for a Mr. Satan punchline, but yeah it's very serious from a usually pretty unserious show. Also also, you guys may have missed it but they added Gotenks to the intro replacing just his silhouette. I don't know why that was the one thing they decided to hide when the intro pretty much shows everything else pretty explicitly, but what are you gonna do.
