They dont really touch upon this in the anime but the reason he's a silver rank is because of guild girl. Breaking into silver rank is tough and is considered the first of the highest tier ranks and u don't normally get that by killing goblins. She had to put in the request and petition for his promotion using reasons like the huge number of goblin quest he's completed and the amount of good will and praise he gets from villagers that he saves ( which is rare for most adventurers). Plus the Guild likes the idea of having a specialist for goblins to help rookies and to keep their goblin quests from piling up.

This and overlord really scratch that niche for me that is really rare. It also has a lot of surprisingly profound wisdom and well thought out ideas.

2023-09-20 00:20:53 +0000 UTCThe Goblin Slayer may seem simple as a character but he is just doing what he feels will help himself, by killing goblins another child doesn't have to live the life that he has lived. It is definitely one way to work though trauma.

Ontop this is a world clearly that is all about rising to bigger and bigger threats while the little guy is left to fend for himself where Goblin Slayer's trauma can help many. it's simple but actually quite well written form what ive seen

2023-09-19 18:10:41 +0000 UTCI love Goblin Slayer. I don't know why, because there's not much of a story telling in the series. I guess it's the VA. Goblin Slayer talks too little and still we as audience can kind of "understand" his emotions, through his emotionless speech.
