You could think of them as the C and D plots in a story. 2023-10-08 14:46:01 +0000 UTCSeason of the Forge was a largely self-contained seasonal story, being the debut of the seasonal model out a few months after Forsaken dropped. With a large focus on gameplay, the weapons you could craft are some of the most beloved and powerful items you could get at any point in Destiny 2's history. Sadly, to encourage players to use other weapons and devs to continue creating unique guns, Bungie implemented a "sunsetting" mechanic, where many older weapons like those from this season could not have their power/levels raised 3-5 seasons after they were introduced, so most players will never see these weapons outside of PVP game modes. The major lore implications that came out of it are as follows: 1. A further division of the Fallen houses/factions via Siviks and his crew, the Kell's Scourge, which attracted many younger Fallen (who were born on ships after the Eliksni fled their homeworld or on Earth) via the promise of technological uplifting as a result of the stolen Black Armory technology/forges. 2. The Man with the Golden Gun, Shin Malphur, who gifts you his gun The Last Word while you were in the middle of stealing a Hive "Weapon of Sorrow". He's long been rumored to be a fanatic that hunts down Guardians who would turn to the Darkness, a result of his adopted fathers being gunned down by the dark guardian Dredgen Yor. The Dredgens are a group of Guardians who would seek to follow in Yor's footsteps, researching his past and theorizing on the Hive and the Darkness to gain a deeper understanding of it and the Light. The Drifter, having been previously part of their group, is understandably afraid to cross paths with Shin. However, in private messages to you, Shin Malphur reveals that in spite of his black-and-white view of the world, he believes you're the shade of gray who can walk that oh-so-thin-line between Light and Dark. 3. Records of the Collapse and the Dark Ages, via the Black Armory founder's papers. (https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-the-black-armory-papers) (Worth the read when yall have a few minutes in your day) The TLDR is that the 3 founders created the Black Armory out of a (correct) belief that the Traveler would bring disaster with it. Their weapons, however, proved ineffective against the horrors of the Collapse, and Henriette's daughter was gravely wounded when their facility's gates were breached by a monstrous being. Turning to the Clovis Bray Corporation's Exo technology, she turned her dying daughter into a special Exo that was meant to act as a portable weapon forge, at the cost of her daughter's memories. As they emerged into a devastated surface world, they encountered some of the first Risen - supernaturally empowered and power-hungry warlords who would ultimately be culled or converted to the ways of the Iron Lords and the Guardians of current day. Unfortunately, these Risen were bloodthirsty scavengers who wanted Ada-1 for her forge abilities, and Henriette removed the Obsidian Accelerator so that they wouldn't chase her daughter. Ada-1 and her unique sniper rifle, however, proved to be deadly enough to put down these proto-Guardians and their Ghosts. But the two had previously agreed to split up during any potential skirmish, as a means to ensure the legacy of the Black Armory lived on with one of them. Henriette would ultimately die, either to the brutality of the Dark Ages or the end of her natural life, while Ada-1 would live and resurrect legacy of the Black Armory in the Last City.

2023-10-07 22:06:51 +0000 UTCAs a quick fyi regarding the story for seasons , the vast majority of the story will be told in the vendor screens along with the odd cutscene/mission unlike expansions that have many full missions and cutscenes
