One thing I always found funny was there was all this wonder abt what Raven was gonna say about Ozpin, or what horrific secrets she might reveal but she’s just like CAW CAW I can turn into a bird now because of him! How dare he!! And I’m just like uhhhhh ok????

I will have to keep in mind one of your insightful comments for later this season because it was spot on, but to say how would be a spoiler. I think the currency in the show is essentially like Yen, you add the cents to the total. so 16,000 Lien would be roughly $160. A more reasonable amount for Qrow to have in his pocket. It goes by a bit quickly but the Job Board for Huntsmen has all the names with missions that are long overdue: 5 weeks, 8 weeks, etc. And those missions are also listed as "ongoing" or "cancelled". So while it doesn't say they are dead for sure, it definitely looks that way. The huntsmen essentially each left on a mission, and never came back. Just another subtle thing to show that while our protagonists may feel invincible sometimes, in the wider world people are anything but. Very few Huntsmen make it to old age.
