2023-12-30 00:17:21 +0000 UTCKakarot is a good Saiyan name. A lot of people think that Vegeta is insulting Goku when he calls him that. But he's not; in a back handed way, he's acknowledging Goku by calling him by a Saiyan name. Vegeta has a lot of pride in his species, and is he didn't respect Goku, there's NO WAY he would consider him a part of that collective by using his Saiyan name. It's also worth noting that multiple characters throughout the series call Goku Kakarot (Broly, Turles, etc), but Vegeta is the only one that Goku doesn't correct. Because he knows what Vegeta means by it. Pretty sure Cell Games Gohan would have mopped the floor with Broly. Just goes to show how much weaker he got. The dragonballs couldn't actually be used to defeat Broly. They have the exact same idea to try to use them to kill Vegeta and Nappa, but Shenron says he can't do it, because he can't grant a wish that's beyond the power for his maker. If someone is stronger than the Dragonball's creator (in this case, Dende), he can't kill them.

We do remember Broly looking cooler in that one, but other than looking like a badass we hadn't really latched on to anything that drew us to him. As personality always wins us over 😊

The first movie expanded a bit on Broly, thought he is a fan favorite because of how much of a powerhouse he is. Just a sadistic, powerful Saiyan. Thought I would say skip Bio-Broly, cause damn that’s the only DBZ movie I stopped halfway through, it’s bad. And it doesn’t even elaborate on Broly, if anything it disrespects him.

2023-12-29 02:08:28 +0000 UTCAbout that Yu Yu Hakusho suggestion you guys got a while ago… The 4 main characters voices are the same as Raditz (MC), Vegeta/Piccolo/Yamcha/ETC, Tien and Android 17. Oh, and Frieza’s OG Funi voice actor plays a character. Goku’s in there somewhere, too lol. One Piece is similar. Kid Gohan Kai (MC), Pic/Veg, Krillin, F. Trunks, Chiaotzu, etc. Sorry, that’s just always been interesting to me. Part of the reason I started One Piece. Oh, and Yu Yu Hakusho has an abridged show by Lanipator, as well.

2023-12-28 22:03:25 +0000 UTCSo as you know, Cha-La is the first opening for the original DBZ (Saiyan through Cell) but for the Buu saga they changed it up with a song called We Gotta Power which is what you guys saw here. (Banger song btw) 30 minutes in and I am reminded why I despise this movie lol. There's dragging its feet through a nothing plot and with a nothing antagonist then there's this. At least the Kikuchi score is good I suppose. Well that sure was a movie alright, not even the finale was as raw or cool as I remembered, (completely ignoring that it makes no sense contextually) but oh well, I guess they won't all be winners; I have faith Fusion Reborn at the very least will be better. I agree completely with both of your breakdowns with why Z Broly is just a nothing character, he has no substance, all rawness for the sake of being raw, and you could argue that he's not even really got that rawness here at least compared to his first movie. For the record this is an opinion that a lot people share (TeamFourStar especially) so yeah Z Broly is kind of a black sheep in the DB community. Lastly, Gohan's outfit I believe was more so his Gi from Piccolo that he got, the same one he wore when he fought Cell (you can tell by the purple colors). Some of the movies/releases have weird coloring/tint issues so it might've been more obvious in some releases rather than others, idk. But I'm pretty sure that's what he's wearing.

Ken is right about the japanese name being Gi usually used to describe martial arts outfits.
