One Piece Live Action Episode 1 Reaction

We are officially hooked into this world and these characters. Hope you enjoy our Full Watch Along Reaction to One Piece Live Action Episode 1

Comments

A decent live action adaptation for casual watchers and those new to One Piece with 0 knowledge, only people who are heavily invested in the manga & the anime would notice the significant difference in the cut out characters and the missing important pieces of lore/information as well as the drastic difference in storywriting/pacing. I'm glad you guys are hooked! I hope one day you guys will have some interest in the subbed version of the anime!

I believe Oda (Eiichiro Oda the creator of One piece) was the casting director for this

Let's Go!!!!

No immediate plans to watch it. It's a lot of episodes haha.

Bethany and Ken

Yeah the acting in this is really good. Imagine they look fairly similar to their characters in the anime.

Bethany and Ken

Thanks for letting us know we got the pronunciation right! Now lets see if we can keep saying it right haha 😛

Bethany and Ken

Glad they didn't have to change things too drastically to adapt it. First episode really impressed us!

Bethany and Ken

the live action is a great adaption but will you be watching the original series?

Soul Fist

One piece is the best

Vibes

also the anime is over 1000 episodes long and still going.

i nvr watched the live action before until u uploaded this and as a fan of the anime. they did a great job with the casting and episode structure. One piece really shines in its characters as an anime. so hopefully its reflected well in the rest of the live action

So glad youve decided to watch this, i absolutely love the live action One Piece, i watched it after years of being tired of hearing about one piece, gave it a shot with the live action and its one of my favorites now ^-^

Your pronunciation of Luffy is correct Ken. One Piece is the most sold manga in the world and even beating Dragon Ball, Naruto and other popular anime’s. Goku wants to test his limits, Naruto wants to be Hokage and Luffy wants to be King of the Pirates. That’s the Shonen anime for ya!

@Sol-Edge Dang. Your favorite, huh? Understandable. I haven’t watched it in like a decade. I was in the 520’s… Between the live action and some unfortunate spoilers I’ve come across (it was hard not to for a while it seemed), I’ve wanted to get back into it. I have a “falling off off series” problem… There are so many things I need to finish or catch up on, but I’ve been getting back into the swing of things. I restarted the early episodes a while ago. I at least want to get to where the live action (S1) ends for comparison reasons. And at some point, I’ll try to pick back up where I left off all those years ago. Hopefully, soon.

You gotta be kidding me… It’s… It’s here… Right when I needed something to watch for dinner. Also, I just finished two different reactions to this season yesterday lol. Edit: When it got to 21:44:44, I didn’t realize you guys had paused for a good a good bit lol. I thought y’all were really engrossed until the stretchy arm pull.

Not a bad iteration of the anime. It does seems to skip a lot of fluff, so I don’t mind much. Fun fact, when Luffy meet Koby he said he didn’t like him cause he seemed to cowardly. Or something like that been a while since I’ve seen the first episode. I guess that what happens when the anime has a little over 1000 episodes. You guys thought DBZ was long, One Piece had it beat by a long shot. And Mr.7. Oh damn. Small tidbit, but he originally showed up until way later in the anime. I guess if/when a season two of this show gets made, it will speed up the pace as well. Overall a solid start.

Posting before watching. Haven’t seen the live action but I am (almost) caught up to the anime. Just 30 episodes behind. Ima be watching it together with you guys. Let’s see if the praise holds up.

The anime One Piece is my favorite anime and for the most part, the live action pretty much stayed on point to the source material, there were some minor changes here and there but nothing that changed the story too drastically.
