Greetings!

If you're looking for an erotic furry VR experience, you've come to the right place!

Furotic is a VR sex sim where you select your kinks, pick your partner, and then physically interact with them in a varierty of ways!

The game will be compatible with all PC VR headsets (Quest users will need to use the link cable) and is still in the early stages of development, but rapid progress is being made!

Over the last three weeks, I've:

1. Negotiated a deal with Ghostly to license all of his existing avatars. This means I've got five species, male, female, and femboy, with a variety of outfits and skins, all fully rigged and ready to go!  

2. Purchased a fantastic house model. This house is fully furnished with an interior and exterior, and is performant enough for use in VR even without the occlusion culling optimizations I'll be implementing later!

3. Licensed a bunch of tools and middleware for Unity to assist in getting the game up and running as quickly as possible!

4. Imported the house into Unity, set up all the materials, did a quick pass with Magic Light Probes, and used Bakery to do some initial lighting tests with a mid-morning scene where the interior is lit only with natural light.

5. Set up HDR and post-processing with auto exposure, so when you enter the house, the scene brightens gradually!

6. Got VR working with both teleportation and smooth locomotion, so you can walk around inside and outside the house, and you have a pair of physical hands that collide with everything you touch... rather than simply passing through objects, just like Half-Life: Alyx! Full finger-tracking on the Index is also supported!

7. Added RED_SIM's excellent water shader with caustics to the backyard pool! 

8. Purchased a VR compatible mirror shader, ran some tests with it, and discovered it murders the frame rate if you just toss it in the scene... so that will require careful tweaking!

9. Did research on fluid simulation with particle systems for... reasons!

10. Spent a bunch of time simply brainstorming... Coming up with ideas for features, how the interface will function, how you will interact with the characters, etc, etc. 


But that's enough rambling... I know what you're really here for. Screenshots!

First up, your house!

(Please note: These images are from a very early build. There's baked lighting on every object, no reflection probes, no trees, and the materials and object placements haven't been finalized... so the finished game may look different!)

This is the first location which will be featured in the game. What you see here is in Unity and already runs extremely well... despite my not yet having implemented any culling optimizations, and mesh colliders being enabled on every object!

Interestingly, this scene is lit only with a single directional light, the skybox, and a whole lot of bounced light rays thanks to Bakery! It makes use of auto-exposure to brighten the interior when you enter the house, and thanks to a careful lighting setup, the exterior isn't always overexposed when you look out the windows from inside, as seen in the photo of the living room! There's also a small amount of bloom being applied with post-processing, and of course custom lighting curves for the HDR, and a warming filter.

And speaking of lighting, the game will feature different times of day in the same locations to increase variety, so there will be sunrise/sunset and evening options for your home in addition to this mid-morning/mid-afternoon look!


And now a peek at some of the character models I've licensed from Ghostly!

All of Ghostly's avatars are fully rigged, include male, female, and femboy versions each with unique outfits, and feature a variety of blendshapes for body shape and naughty bits! That means I'll be able to get them up and running quickly in the game, and more easily implement some of the fetishy stuff I have planned!

Of course these aren't the only characters which will be featured. I'll be keeping an eye out for other artists who produce high quality avatars and are willing to license them for use in the game!


Anyway, I think that about wraps up this first update! I know that's a lot of information to digest, and I have a lot more I want to tell you about... like how interacting with these characters will work, and what sort of fetishes might be featured... but I'll save that for the next update!
