Desktop build!

Hey guys,

Here's the latest build. Now featuring desktop support!

There's no need to download this build if you only play in VR. No new content has been added, just the ability to move around and interact using the mouse and keyboard.  

It works just as you'd expect. You've got WASD + mouselook, Esc brings up the menu, and you can teleport with space. Left click selects menu items and wiggles the index finger, and right click grips!

You can switch between full screen and windowed mode with Alt-enter.

You will need to install the game in Steam as a "non-steam game" to play it as it still requires SteamVR to be present to run!

Use the previous build if you want to play in VR. It turns out there's a bug that prevents the menu from opening in VR in this version.

That is fair. Again, something far into the future. So things could easily and quickly change. But I look forward to what you will turn this project into, and what it will become in 5 years from now. ^-^

If you're asking about full-tour, I'm not against the idea, but I don't know if or when that will happen. Adding something like that would be complex. None of the avatars have their internals modeled. The plan for now is to transition the player via a fade with the mouth closing, to a throat they slide down into the stomach. I suppose if I also had intestines modeled I could just as easily model a path through those as I could the throat though. The transition out the other end might not be as seamless though. I just don't wanna promise complex features that are potentially a long ways out.

On the note of the latter... will this project become.. like.. full-exploration kind of project in the distant future? If you catch my drift. If forgot if I asked this before, so that is why I ask here and now. Probably again, but... help my forgetting mind.

There's no blepping yet, but the always open mouths are a temporary thing. The intent is to soon make it so when you put your hands near their mouth they'll open it for you. They may poke their tongue out when they do this. As for anything else they may do with their tongue after that, well, we'll see! This is very much a work in progress and I'm figuring things out as I go. As for being swallowed, there are no stomachs yet. That's something I'll implement eventually, but it's still a ways off. I've been in touch with some friends who have developed systems like that for avatars though. I may enlist their help for such a system, though I want something where you'll travel down the throat, which they haven't implemented.

Is there a way how to make the characters blep their tongues out? Plus, how can I get swallowed into a stomach (I keep falling back down into the pool)?

Use the previous version for VR. It's the same aside from desktop support. I just tested it myself and I have the same issue on Index. I believe the problem is the code that is checking for ESC is always doing it and not just when no headset is connected and it is resetting the state of that button before it can act. Should be an easy fix, but I don't want to make a whole new build just for that. I'll be releasing a new build later this month with new stuff.

Works great in PC mode. I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to open the menu on rift s touch. The B button just seems to move the finger on the hand. None of the buttons seem to open the menu. I was trying to look at the bindings and it looked like B was bound to both controllers, but nothing activates B on the left controller and I can't figure out how to unbind it. Is it something weird in this build or is it something I'm doing wrong? The controls seem to work in other apps. I did add it to steam and launched it from there.
