Ooooh if you guys ever do check out Teen Titans I'll be 1,000,000% be looking forward to that!

Yep, will probably happen with 10 as well. So count it as a bonus πŸ˜‚ We were rushed getting this out and uploaded before the holiday break so missed a few things πŸ€—

Bethany and Ken

A show we still need to check out πŸ˜…

Bethany and Ken

Was wondering how long it would take for Bethany to realize Lin wasn't doing it through her shoes. As to why Yakone is so strong even for a blood bender I personally chalk it up to a combination of being unique, genetic, a prodigy, and just pure experience, gotta give credit where cred is due. Also I found it funny how you guys try to apply all these logical reasonings/theories as to how Amon was able to resist blood bending; while me as a teenager upon first seeing this scene just thought he was just THAT strong/badass, due to me being influenced by anime/shounen logic growing up XD.

I’ll double check but as I recall (I could absolutely be misremembering) they showed the moon but it wasn’t full. Thanks for letting me know though!

Spencer Parks

I echo Alexey. You need to go back and watch that episode. There was a full moon.

Mako is the worst. Just the worst.

Oh yeah! I forgot that Yakone is voiced by Clancy Brown! Mr. Krabs is a Bloodbender. Although, I guess saying "Hank went to the opposite side of the law" would be more accurate (Detroit: Become Human). "I still think he could be Amon." "'We shocked the box.'" "Oh no, now Korra's gonna be in an iceberg for a hundred years!" Ken popping off with the solid jokes. Didn't even have time to comment on each individually. It's odd. You guys don't usually keep the show visible through the entire watchalong, right?

As far as I remember, bloodbending doesn't mean bending actual blood, but bending the water, in general, inside a humans body, we humans are made of 80% water after all, and that old lady from AtLA just named it bloodbending because it sounded more... cooler (edgier). So bloodbending would fall more in line with metal bending in terms of "Metal bending is possible because of the impurities" , at least I think that metal would have even less than 80% earth in it. Also I believe, that Toph taught others how to metalbend, so the way of metalbending was passed down and officially teached, but bloodbending has always been forbidden, so it makes sense that there aren't many people who use it.

I see you guys are officially at the point in the series where you happily shout "Naga!" the moment she comes onscreen, just like you did for Appa) Which is, of course, the cutest thing and completely understandable)

That actually did happen during a full moon, it was shown earlier in the episode that the moon was full.

Fun fact about Yakone: his voice actor is Clancy Brown. He plays some of my favorite villains in various animated shows. He just has such a great villain voice. I always thought of the "full moon" rule for bloodbending as an assumption that just hadn't been proved false until Katara. Sure the full moon makes it easier to achieve the power level required to do it, but Hama was able to invent it because she was determined enough so I figure that if other waterbenders wanted it badly enough then they could acquire the skill through rigorous training, similarly to how Uncle Iroh taught himself how to lightning bend.

Lady RedShee

Katara was the first blood bender to use the method outside of a full moon (from the episode in ATLA when she used it on the Southern Raiders). This is just an extension of that.

Spencer Parks

Amon reminds me of Slade Wilson from Teen Titan.
