Genshin Impact Omnipresence Over Mortals Ending Reaction

Oh I cannot wait till we get to Sumeru, gotta have one of my favourite arcs in the genshin story thus far. Though the death of Signora in this one was particularly epic and a great climax to the inazuman storyline

In a way, Ei's beliefs are pretty similar to Viktor's from Arcane.

That's fair. Although for Kazuha, we never really connected much with him or his story. Probably because we were too sidetracked with how cool Beidou is. Not sure which one I like better as far as the harbinger form goes. Tartaglia had more of an impact because just didn't expect it from Childe. Have always thought Signora was a bad ass so her transformation was cool, but also somehow expected. đŸ€—

Gotta say, I expected more commentary and reflection at the end. Didn't touch on Ei's motivations linking back to losing her sister, Kazuha finally awakening his dead friends vision, Kujou Sara assuming the Yamcha position after being bested, comparison of Signora's harbinger form vs Tartaglia's, Ei having to step up from being her sister's shadow to becoming archon in her stead, etc etc. Just seems like most of what happened didn't get touched upon.

While this might be the end of the main story of Inazuma, the playlist definitely shows it’s not of the end for this region. That’s because Hoyoverse likes to put a bunch of Events after the main story to give themselves time to develop the next Region. Great for those that just want to play more of this game and want to know more lore. Sucks for those who only care about Main Story stuff. And they really had to develop Sumeru well, because at this point of the game, we still didn’t get the plant element, Dendro đŸŒ±. They had to make a new region and add a new element to the game. (Which was supposed to be in the game from the beginning, but couldn’t because they ran out of time before the release schedule was closing in)

Ken, you share the same sentiments a whole plethora of fans had when they realized Signora might die here. And when it happened, that pretty much incinerated any dreams of having her as a playable character. Myself included, since I’m a big collector of Pyro đŸ”„ characters. While I am bummed out she may never come back, I still hold some optimism that she will still be playable because of some time or space shenanigans. Maybe some magic stuff since Ley Lines are a thing.

And the reason for their mindset is shown. Ei is not particularly wrong because of her fear of losing everything. But the grief definitely blinded her to anything that doesn’t need her protection. Some fans say that this ending was dumb because she never got punished for what she did for so many years. To which I can agree to an extent. But this battle was only to overthrow the Vision Hunt Decree and gain the freedom of the Vision Bearers. Not to overthrow a god. Even if she didn’t get “appropriate comeuppance”, at least she will now lead her people in a better way.

It's interesting to see the way each Archon feels about their Gnosis. To Venti, it was a source of power that he didn't care for because he didn't want to impose his rule over Mondstadt. To Zhongli, it was nothing more than a bargaining chip to receive help from the Fatui in faking his death and testing his people to see if they were ready to live without their god. And to Ei, it was nothing more than a source of bad memories over losing her sister, and didn't serve any purpose to her since she had severed her ties with Celestia. Gnoses are symbols of authority and sources of divine elemental power granted by Celestia and the Heavenly Principles, yet the Gods the traveler has met so far seem rather eager to renounce that gift, treating it more like a burden, and though Ei was trying to get closer to the Heavenly Principles, I doubt she wanted to do it as a reverance, but rather to find a way to avange Makoto. I can't reveal much more about the nature of the Heavenly Principles and Teyvat's past, as you'll learn about them in due time, but the lore gets really deep, although a part of it is only shown through story quests and optional areas (like Dragonspine and Enkanomiya, who are both tied to the main lore of Teyvat but are not necessary at all to advance the story)

I would highly recommend giving the ‘A Winter Night’s Lazzo’ interlude teaser a rewatch. You’ll now have the much needed context to get a better understanding of it. I assume you’ll be watching some side quests and event quests before moving on to the next nation of Sumeru, so you could also wait and watch it just before you start the Sumeru cutscenes as it gives a tiny little teaser into Sumeru.
