Game Awards 2024 Trailers Reaction

Comments

I meant for the Patreon tho. I thought it would come Friday instead of earlier this week. Glad I was wrong

Yeah that's a bummer when we found that out. We started making a list of game releases to get more organized for next year and when we may start playing games, etc. Nothing against mobile games, it's just not something we do on the channel right now

Bethany and Ken

Nah, you were right. We are doing it for FNF this week. Pushing back Hades Misguidance 🤗

Bethany and Ken

Thanks for this info. we cut it out of our video and thumbnail for when posting it to Youtube later today

When was the last Turok game even? 🤔

Bethany and Ken

Onimusha has me absolutely hyped.

Shatterpoint Gaming

It's SuperAuthenti They did put out a statement saying no generative AI was used for a trailer or game... but I mean let's be real. They have a history of doing NFT and blockchain stuff too.

Bedinor

That turok announcement made me jump out of my seat, as soon as i saw that tomahawk i was thinking how cool it would be for a new turok evolution game.

tica

I can vouch for this. There’s no indication on what studio is developing this “game”. Even the description on Steam seems like it’s very much written by AI. Everyone online is also calling them out.

D.O

Catly is ai scam game that made it in sadly

Looks like the Tekken 8 trailer for Clive Rosfield wasn't here either. Perhaps that's the vid for Fight Night Friday this week? Edit: Haha, nevermind. Me stupid

Darn, my suggestion for the trailer of the new project directed by Fumito Ueda didn't make the cut. Tbh I don't know if you two would get much of a kick out of it now that I'm thinking about it. It's only a small teaser for the game, and I don't imagine it would mean much to you since your only exposure to Ueda's work would be the Shadow of the Colossus trailers you saw a couple of years back. Frankly, I just wanted an excuse to push for more reactions to his stuff bc I'm quite the fan of what he's put out. His games are more on the niche side, so I'm not too surprised that the trailer slipped under the radar. Would still appreciate you giving it a look though (if you want). I'll just leave the links I would've shared here relating to his other two classics, "Ico" and "The Last Guardian". Someone's gotta vouch for 'em: Trailer for Ico: https://youtu.be/kSRIlwXDBB4?si=8akFw9dTQgNfLlBi Playlist for the Last Guardian: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7Wq-naHdAIV2SvyPzy1_9OHzVxT8KvRh&si=tvsYTnUp_dPi74sj

Adding on to JT’s comment about “Okami”. Many who had a PS2/PS3/Wii (recently on Steam) absolutely LOVED this game. It utilizes the classic paintbrush style of Japanese art and created a world that many players would be engrossed in. The main character, or canine in this case, being Amaterasu (Ammy for short) is one of the most beloved Capcom characters for not just having an amazing game, but is also remembered for being an amazing fighter in both versions of Marvel vs Capcom 3 It cannot be understated just how many people cried at the revival of this series. Hell, at the Game Awards the announcer was also tearing up at the honor of being able to reveal this series’s comeback. It’s a niche franchise with a very dedicated following that’s been waiting for a proper sequel for nearly 2 DECADES! Okami is cherished and it deserves to be so.

27:09 God damn it! I was hoping you'd see this one as a part of the Okami playlist I shared the other day. Guess I gotta explain as to why so many people are amped for this (especially me). Okami was originally released in 2006, and is widely regarded as a masterpiece and one of Capcom's best. The announcement and details from this trailer were nothing short of something miraculous. Hideki Kamiya, the name given at the end was the game's director when he was still working as a developer for Capcom's subsidiary "Clover Studio". During that time, he was responsible for directing Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 2. Due to disagreement with how things were being run at Capcom, Clover Studio dissolved and independently came together to form "PlatinumGames" (the studio you two would know as the studio behind Bayonetta). The trailer didn't show it, but right after it ended Geoff Keighley announced that Kamiya (who had just recently left PlatinumGames) is now moving toward the future with his new team "Clovers Studio". All of this becoming a reality after Capcom has put Okami on the back burner for so long feels like something only made possible by a magic wish granted by a shooting star. I was so upset that I couldn't stay awake for the second half of the show, because this announcement might've had me tearing up a little if I ended up seeing it live. It's that meaningful to me. I hope with every fiber of my being that you check the game out more. It's one of two games that's managed to make me get misty eyed at the end, and I don't get emotional easily when playing/watching things. Sorry for sounding dramatic, but it's how I feel.

JT

23:16 The trailer doesn't make it abundantly clear, but GOT Kingsroad is apparently supposed to be a mobile game. Don't know what that means to you two, but I figured I'd point it out. Suppose it wouldn't be impossible for it to get ported to consoles. Happens for a lot of other mobile games (Hoyoverse stuff, Marvel Snap, etc), though some mobile games don't translate nearly as well being played on devices other than phones/tablets.

JT

Damn, I didn't think you would just blast through em like this. Much appreciated!
