2024-12-30 16:14:23 +0000 UTCWhat's interesting about Eris becoming a Hive God is that she became one and turned against us in (one of?) Elsie Bray's Dark Future(s). I think in the last video we saw a conversation between Ikora and Elsie, and Elsie was understandably upset about this plan because it plants that seed of fear that ~this~ timeline, no matter how much it deviated from the Dark Future, might be headed for the same disaster. Immaru is a little prick, but he knows where to press buttons. After all, we learned in The Witch Queen that the Hive were meant to be chosen by the Traveler long before the Ammonites, the Harmony, the Ecumene, the Eliksni, and Humanity. If not for the Witness and the Worm Gods' trickery, the Hive would have been blessed by the Light. So when your Silent God gives the same blessing you have to your enemies - millions of years after the fact - who can wholly deny Immaru's claim that the Traveler is fixing it's mistake?

2024-12-26 22:51:57 +0000 UTCYou guys are right to be worried about Eris. Sloane wasn't the only one who mentioned her concerns about her towards Ikora. In the lore, Elsie actually confronts Ikora about Eris and asked her if she had even listened to her about what happened in the last timeline. Elsie has a real reason to be concerned because she saw firsthand what happened when Eris had unchecked power in the last time loop. She said that when Eris speaks in her Hive form, she is smiling and when Elsie had to kill her sister Ana in the last time loop after she fell to corruption and killed Mara, Eris had that same smile. Elsie is absolutely terrified of it happening again and I don't blame her because it is a very a real possibility.
