2024-12-27 23:05:55 +0000 UTCThe original Budokai games were 3d fighter games like Tekken,Soul caliber etc whereas the Budokai Tenkaichi games were arena fighter games which is why i much preferred the original Budokai games. Also in the original Budokai games whenever you did the fusion dance, you had to make sure you press the correct buttons to do the fusion dance correctly otherwise if you pressed the wrong button then you would end up doing the fusion dance wrong which would result in making you the fat version of gogeta or Gotenks so in these games you could play as the fat version which was quite funny when playing with friends

2024-12-27 20:16:00 +0000 UTCWell, when you have a series thatβs involved with as big as Dragonball that just continues to make new characters, you gotta make sure players donβt get too bored watching ultimate attacks. This was more your guysβ pace, but to more experienced members of DBZ games, these ultimates tended to drag on for a few seconds too long. And with a series known for having lots of characters, that stuff can pile up and irritate certain people.

2024-12-27 19:50:06 +0000 UTC28:44 A big part of why the animations here are slower is bc unlike how ultimate attacks work in most other DB games, the player using the ultimate attack can actually fail them if they don't perform the button prompts you see at the bottom correctly. It's a cool risk vs reward system that remains rather unique to Budokai. While I agree that theyβre arguably more cinematic and distinguished, I don't know if that's always better in terms of gameplay. It would be cool the first few times but seeing them match after match would start to make them feel cumbersome imo.

2024-12-27 19:10:19 +0000 UTCAbout the whole "Budokai" and "Budokai Tenkaichi" thing: In Japan, the Budokai Tenkaichi series goes by "Sparking" instead. So instead of DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 1, 2, and 3 it's DBZ Sparking, Sparking Neo, and Sparking Meteor. It's speculated that the titles were changed to capitalize on the popularity of the Budokai series here in the west. Hence why Sparking Zero has the small "Budokai Tenkaichi series" label here in the U.S.

He never performs it in the original series, but he does say that he "could" do it. They gave it to him in Xenoverse too, where his line is: "I told you I could do it if I wanted to!"
