Destiny 2 Season of the Witch Part 3

Comments

The drifter hates his ghost and blames it for giving him the light. This is despite it saving his life and sacrificing its ability to speak by allowing him to kitbash it with the ghosts of his dead fireteam. An event he mentions still having trauma over in season of the deep. This explains his comment to Immaru about meeting his ghost

Kinda hit it on the head a bit, if Eris had directly challenged Xivu and won then as a hive she would have absorbed Xivu's power and basically complete her transformation into a complete Hive God. Clarification- she didn't turn Xivu "human" but rather she basically cut her off from her "vault" of power; her throne world. Without access to her throne world she lost a TON of power AND the ability to revive herself; as a hive god can only be properly killed while in their throne world; if they die in the material plane then they just reform and revive in their throne world and come back. We are so close to final shape! you are not ready! but get ready!

Oh nice, thanks for giving us that extra context 🙂

Yeah she deserves some relaxation with the Drifter. 🙂

We're in the endgame now! Season of the Wish, The Final Shape, and then the two episodes before you're caught up!

Super looking forward to the next season! Witch and Wish are my two favourite seasons, there was just so much to like. Just some extra context, back in Forsaken, the Raid boss for “Last Wish” was Riven, the last known Ahamkara. In the raid there a mechanic called the “wish wall” where you could put in codes that were found through the game in order to get various wishes granted. There were 15, but only 14 were ever found. The “fifteenth wish” became a huge community search but no one could ever find it, only the description for the wish - “this one you shall cherish”. As it turns out, that was Savathuns secret wish that she had prepared, a wish that would allow the wisher to pursue The Witness, which we discovered by a pattern on her wings. The only issue is that we killed Riven, the last ahamkara!

It's so satisfying that Eris Morne, the Gaurdian who lost everything to the Hive, became the strongest Hive God there has ever been. She's been threw so much throughout destiny's story, She's definitely one of strongest and most capable characters, had it been someone else in her place they would most likely taken that power for themselves and given into temptation, but Eris threw it all away and made one of our greatest enemies mortal and vulnerable. Now she can have her tea and spend more time with the Drifter too.

What an ending with a great twist indeed. This season had some pretty interesting lore. For starters, right after Eris collapsed after cutting off Xivu Arath from her throne world, Immaru brought back Savathun and she laughed saying that she had that coming from Eris. After learning what Eris did she laughed gleefully and went on about how she influenced Eris and made her into this. Ikora then threatens Savathun after she didn't tell them how to reach the witness instead saying she already showed them. However, Savathun was undeterred as she could easily take Ikora, but the guardian stepped in and she backed down cause she knew she couldn't win against us. Soon after Savathun left, she was killed by Saint-14. Shortly after, Immaru transmatted in to see what happened and brought her back while saying to saint "I don't even want to know". Saint then kills Savathun after she smiled and was about to say "For Osiris", but he cut her off mid-sentence. He then told immaru to bring her back again, but before he could leave after refusing, Saint puts a war of dawn shield over him preventing him from leaving and damn near kills him in his palm. Immaru finally agrees, and Saint proceeds to kill her again and again and says "You are Hive, and you know suffering. You come from death. It is nothing to you. But I think, maybe, you do not know how it feels to be helpless. I will teach you." We don't know how many times he killed her, but it lasted a good amount of time. After he finally finished getting all of his rage, hatred, and wrath out after what Savathun did to him and Osiris, he finally says as he's leaving that that wasn't for Osiris, but for him. He then rejoined Osiris at home, fell to his knees, and broke down crying, which showed how much he had been holding onto for a moment like this. Also, I'm so glad that you guys got to see some actual gameplay instead of just the dialogue as it adds some more experience. I highly recommend you guys watch the full gameplay of the Final Shape to experience the gameplay, music, and visuals as it is the culmination of 10 years of Light vs Dark when the time comes. Next season will be very interesting. If you guys are interested here's a link to the lore verses of these two instances, they are called "A Deal's a Deal" and "Proportionality" and they should be at the bottom, although you guys can read the verses that came before these two if you're interested https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-rites-of-passage.
