haha, yeah. But Aang just set the bar high for being a person really. ๐Ÿค—

Steven also in Invincible and Walking Dead. Such a talented actor. Love Glen. That's cool you can tell it's the same turtle by the markings ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Don't have my computer because it's being repaired, so using my phone to sync...this should be interesting. VA Fun Fact out the gate! The fire sage who first spoke at the start is voiced by Serena Williams, making this her second appearance in the franchise after voicing the guard who was nice to Iroh in The Invasion episode. So, I thought I recognized the lead hunter, but I was wrong. He's voiced by Travis Willingham, who has done soooo many voices. Most notably, to me, is Knuckles the Echidna in the Sonic franchise for a while. Which brings me to a rather short and silly recommendation: Sonic Boom. Absolutely insane show, really funny. Might be one to check out somewhere in the next 5 years. Oh! The Lion Turtle is voiced by Jim Cummings; Tigger in Winnie the Pooh and Pete in anything Goofy related. Let's go! I was waiting for this one. VA Fun Fact! The Oasis guardian is voiced by Jason Marsden, who voiced Max Goof in A Goofy Movie and Chester Mcbadbat in Fairly Odd Parents. Also, don't worry, Bethany, I've never figured out what the hell he is. Yall didn't mention it anywhere, but I absolutely love the backgrounds this episode. The ancient art style looked absolutely gorgeous.

Aang set the avatar bar too high lol, seeing these avatars with such obvious character flaws is a little jarring

Malcolm Shanks

love that they decided to dive into the history of this world with this short arc, its some that was always missing in TLA imo

Knight Spearhead

Fun facts about this episode: - Wan is voiced by Steven Yeun, who also plays Keith in Voltron: Legendary Defender (another show made by people who worked on ATLA that I totally recommend you check out) - The spirt aye-aye, named Huan, that nicknamed Wan "Stinky" is voiced by Jason Marsden (I LOVE his work!) - That spirit oasis Wan wanted to enter was the same spirit oasis featured in the Northern Water Tribe in ATLA where Princess Yue gives Katara the special water. They even used the same line about it having "special healing properties). - That lion-turtle that gave Wan the element of fire is the same one that gave Aang the ability to energy bend (you can tell this by the markings on the forehead). - This episode shows you how firebending became the first element in the Avatar cycle because that is the first one Wan received. - Wan learned more control of his firebending from the dragons and doing the dragon dance, just like Aang and Zuko. This is one of my absolute favorite episodes, as well as the next episode Part 2, because it gives us so many full circle moments between ATLA and TLOK. It is also really interesting to see what a world before bending looked like and in a way it almost gives life to what Amon had probably envisioned. I'm definitely looking forward to your reaction to Part 2 on Friday!! :)
