Dragon Ball Super 126 Full Reaction

I was hearing his older Vegeta a bit ago. It’s funny how many voice alters he and Piccolo go through lol.

k c

I always called it Royal Blue lol

Silxvi

I think his Evolved Super Saiyan Blue should be called "Super Saiyan Sapphire".

GamerViewer89

Just an incredible episode all around! Kudos to Bethany wearing royal blue to represent Team Vegeta too!! Now we're down to the last guy and yes, Jiren's a dick for a reason and that'll be explained in the next episode or two

J Sal

Except the Great Saiyaman is just a persona. Gohan doesn't act or talk like that all the time. Thankfully haha ( ;

Bethany and Ken

So Great Saiyaman is a persona that Gohan adopts. Gohan never talks like that (both voice and persona) when he is out of costume. We look at that as both a silly joke, and also Gohan wanting The Great Saiyaman to be a symbol. Which is common for a lot of super heroes. Characters like Top and Ribrianne that claim to be the sole authority on what is “Justice” or what is “Love”, bother us. Actions speak louder than words and neither character really showed they know the meaning of the words they claim to be experts on or fight for. There is nothing just about this tournament. Nothing to say that Universe 11 is made up of morally superior people than any other universe. 17 seemed to be the character that understood this the most talking about how ludicrous it is to peg him as a villain just for defending his universe. And then everything Vegeta said rang true with us. We don’t see Top as a villain, but you will see stories where the sympathetic villain does anything they can to defend/bring back the person they love. But then inevitably it is asked of them if the person they love would approve of everything they are doing in their name. Top never really seemed to care about justice (at least not as much as he claimed) and becoming a destroyer pretty much proves that in our opinion. There was a missed opportunity here I think in having Top really stand for Justice. Which is administering what is morally right and fair. Like I said, this tournament was neither. And we get that he had some initial reluctance in joining the tournament but they could’ve expanded on that. They could have had him struggle with the question of: How does he know that Universe 11 deserves to be spared and has the most morally right people in it? Then they could’ve had the Kai or someone of Universe 11 show him some of the characters that the other universes are using. Like Frost for 6. This is a great time to make a joke of Universe 9. And then we get to universe 7. Not just Frieza, but Vegeta, and Piccolo as well were also villains at one time. Then Top decides to join because he can’t stand by and let a universe that would deploy such villains to defend them win out. What if one of those villains were to get their hands on the Dragon Ball Wish?! And then he would use his dragon ball wish, if they win, to wish that the universe with the highest MORAL score, not mortal score, be the universe that survives (so if it was an already eliminated universe it would be brought back). And if 11 has the highest moral score great, if not, so be it, but at least justice prevails and the universe with the best beings in it survives. It’s okay to fight hard for your universe’s survival and do anything it takes to win out. Just don’t claim it’s because of justice because it’s not. That’s what bothered us 🤗

Bethany and Ken

damn. now we wish we would've done that too 😁

Bethany and Ken

Yeah we totally missed that the previous episode until it was brought up in the comments. Great move 😂

Bethany and Ken

😂

Bethany and Ken

haha, well the Castlevania Nocturne you can draw out more as this will be the only three day post of those 😜

Bethany and Ken

while I love vegeta got the win, I hate using the final explosion as the way to do it. That should have only been used one time in the series during the buu saga when it was the perfect time to use it. Using it here again should have killed Vegeta because now it just feels like any other regular move and not a major sacrificial attack which it was originally intended to be.

Sean Carroll (AOT is better than GOT)

Lol yall really hated Toppo that much? He was actually cool

Jeffrey F

I couldn't agree more, that's why i like Toppo so much. Obviously im rooting for my universe but i was kinda sad when he lost against vegeta. Toppo was like a proud giant teddy bear police officer. That's why i like how before the tournament started they showed us how much he loved his people. Toppo will always be more interesting to me than Jiren. Toppo is an absolute amazing character and one of my favorite from DBS. He is truly again man & like you said he walked the walk.

Asuka Yousei 妖精帝國

I liked Top. He's not a villain. He was an opponent yes. but not evil. He literally is no different the "The Great Saiyaman!" In fact lol, I'd wager that if Gohan went to universe 11 before the TOP and dressed as the Saiyaman, Top would've asked him to be a pride trooper! regardless of all that, I have to lend credit to the voice actor of Top, that last scream was on par with Goku and Vegeta's screams. He wailed pretty good when being defeated by Vegeta's attack.

Nate Terry

Top really does walk the walk, I know you guys think he was self serving but they really mean it. They almost didn't participate in the tournament because it would leave their universe vulnerable while they were away. Top doesn't abuse his power in his universe and truly uses it to serve and protect others. Tournament of power is just about survival is the issue.

Chad Mancillas

There's only ONE WORD to describe this episode: SATISFYING!!

Mohamed Mohamed

Get on with it! *crowd screaming* yeah get on with it! DND: "oh I am enjoying this scene!" God: GET ON WITH IT

REDE

I know yall probably answered a similar question before, but now that we're done with Top, I have to ask. What exactly is it about him that was off putting to you as opposed to a similar character like Great Saiyaman who you like? Is it mostly the constant touting of one word like love/justice? I'm curious 😂

Hayden Morris

I’m happy another character satiated their disgust after Ribrianne’s death, bless her soul. Their passionate hatred for Ribrianne left me wanting more and I’m happy they found another punching bag. I just wish they also shat on the purple rabbit who shall not be named

Hohoho

I was kinda hoping Ken and Bethany would come out singing Hamilton “If you stand for nothing Top, what do you fall for?!” 😂

Vito Bambino

17 is the one who threw the rock at Freeza in the beginning 😂 in order to slow him down and keep him in the ring. Smart and also fucking hilarious 💀😂

Austin Collier

For once I actually have to agree with Jiren, Toppo did absolutely nothing in this tournament, eliminated nobody... (SPOILERS) …him not eliminating Frieza or 17 basically costed them everything, had he done that, they almost certainly would've won.

Shadowpunch13

Also how on earth does Chris Sabat still have a voice after this? 😂

Cynergy

This episode is legit one of my favourite TOP fights, glad Vegeta got this win, makes sense that it would take a god to take out another god. Jirens reaction was pretty jarring lol I love that he complimented Vegeta defeating Top and insulted Top in the same breath. Idk I actually like Top, he’s willing to throwaway his belief system to ensure the survival of his universe which I find admirable, I get what you’re both saying but sadly can’t agree with your opinion of him, but I understand it lol. I was super looking forward to you both reacting to this episode knowing how much you both love Vegeta, not at all disappointed 🥳

Cynergy

Gotta say, you two might have the most passionate hatred of Toppo that I've ever seen from people watching this series (not a small number, I assure you). Can fully understand why especially given your commentary on this episode. Perhaps it's just bc he doesn't get as much screentime or bc he has a little more intrigue as a character due to his decision to become a destroyer, but I never found him "that" annoying compared to Ribrianne and U2. Like the other commenter's here, I rather liked him as an antagonist.

JT

Such a good episode can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Moises Martinez

It's my first time hearing it in a while but, "I ordain what will and will not exist, that is my cause. And to serve it, I forsake all else," goes CRAZY hard.

Shadowpunch13

Perhaps I'm just being pessimistic, but I can't stand fan-service when it's just done for the sake of it, or without any meaningful difference to at least make it stand out. It's something this tournament does well most of the time I think, this was one of those times it just falls a little flat for me. It's what I liked about Toriyama's writing, he so very rarely repeated himself, and whenever he did, he would try to make it as unique as possible.

Shadowpunch13

Oh I doubt it lol. Don't really disagree with the take you posted above, just didn't bother me as much.

JT

Credit where it's due, I do like the parallel you draw there, I hadn't considered it. (Although I do still wonder whether it was the writers' intent or not).

Shadowpunch13

18:35 Vegeta's Final Explosion was so powerful it transcended fiction and started fucking up the audio.

JT

Alright well time for me to be the spoilsport. I alluded to it in an earlier episode but I do not like this episode's kind of "fanservice" concerning its ending. I liked it a lot more when Vegeta's Final Explosion wasn't so much a move (as it often gets treated as like in the games and such), as much it was just him using literally all the energy he had to blow himself up. It being a move, that he can simply put the breaks on because "his body is stronger and thus can weather the blast" kinda removes all of the emotional weight of using it in the first place since the point is that you're not meant to survive detonating literally ALL of your life force. Without giving up your life it's no different to Piccolo's explosive wave move. (Slight spoilers for the next two episodes, idk if DND have watched that far yet) It's also immediately contradicted by the fact, that next episode he's back to using Blue Evolved for about half of the episode, just to go back to being extraordinarily exhausted in the next episode. Still an alright episode, I don't hate the closer look on Vegeta's pride concerning his family and Cabba (or by extension, his race) and what it means on a personal level for him since usually it's just used as a non sequitur (I mean Vegeta mentions his pride so much, I don't think even he knows what it means anymore), so that's all good, but the second he busts out the suicide move it completely ruins it for me. I think if they should've either actually let the Final Flash finish a fight for once or actually committed to killing him off. Problem obviously being, actually killing him off would've completely overshadowed 17's sacrifice in the next episode. Anyway rant over. Onto the next!

Shadowpunch13

I been hoping for this notification for days

Kev

Damn it you two! Now I got this and and the barrage of Castlevania Nocturne reactions you just posted. The hell am I supposed to do with all this at once? 😆 Gonna throw up with how much you're feeding me.

JT

I really enjoyed how they handled the matchup of Vegeta vs Toppo. For me and many others, it was one of the most anticipated fights as it’s a battle between the two “second fiddles” of U7 and U11 who both have pride as their key character trait. The way Toei used the fulfillment of pride as the determining factor in this fight was incredible. Gets even better when you realize that the last time Vegeta used the Final Explosion, it was to atone for casting aside his values to obtain more power through Babidi’s magic. Here, it’s used as a punishment for Toppo casting aside his values for more power by becoming a destroyer. Poetry in motion.

JT

Man, I remember that Dragon Ball fever was about as high as it is right now when this episode came out. Dragon Ball FighterZ had just come out not too long before this episode, and we had also gotten word that a new DBS movie would be premiering in Japan later that year (2018). We didn’t know what the movie was about though, as it had only been described as featuring “the story of the Saiyans”.

JT

Episode Elimination Name Puns o U11’s Top/Toppo: Anagram for pot. Fighters Remaining: 5/80
