2025-01-22 00:05:12 +0000 UTCI totally agree. As a Kai fan, the dialogue tells the story more closely to the manga and, more importantly, to the author's idea for the story. I'll admit that for Z, the dubbing direction can be weird in some if not most places. If anything, I think it was to make the story simpler to understand; I think. It just came at the cost of poor script writing.

2025-01-20 21:48:10 +0000 UTCI think telling Vegeta that his son was stronger than him would have been more disrespectful so he let Vegeta off easy 🤣🤣🤣

2025-01-20 15:08:08 +0000 UTCGoku playing mind games both intentionally and unintentionally with Vegeta and the time chamber haha. Forcing him to bond with Trunks was genius. But then Goku just casually telling Vegeta he's stronger than him was great. 😆

2025-01-20 15:04:56 +0000 UTCDon't think I've commented before, but I figured I'd add a little context to Piccolo's comment about "forgetting his name" when fusing with Kami. In the Frieza saga, Kami's backstory is explained that Kami was sent to Earth as a kid by his father to preserve the his species. But Kami wasn't the same as you know him now, he was just the "nameless Namekian" until he split himself in two, one side good (Kami), and other side bad (Piccolo), to become the guardian of Earth. So therefore once Piccolo and Kami fuse together they become the "nameless Namekian" again, even though he still goes by Piccolo after this anyways.

2025-01-20 07:04:10 +0000 UTCTien: What’s gotten into Piccolo? 🤔 Krillen: He went that way 🤷 This interaction killed me 🤣 Krillin being concise as always lol Aw Eighter, the gentle giant, honestly you will both LOVE him once you start OG Dragon Ball ❤️

2025-01-20 01:50:59 +0000 UTCThe game fails to mention that Goku manipulated Vegeta to train with Trunks by telling him he HAD to train in the chamber with two people. Goku did that so they could build a bond. You don't have to be with two people in the chamber. I just thought that was a beautiful thing for goku to do in the show and manga. Also another great moment destroying the "Goku is a bad father" that only the casual western audience shared. Goku DID NOT have to train with Gohan, in fact Gohan slowed him down but he wanted to spend time with Gohan & in the anime, their time together is the chamber was really cute. Another small reason why this saga is the best in my humble opinion and the best written out of the z series and even super.

2025-01-20 01:37:20 +0000 UTCNoted, never mess with animals, Bethany will stomp you out. Period. Eighter is someone you guys will get to know (and love more) once you guys start OG Dragon Ball Man Cell is a beast! His introduction is definitely one of the more (if not, most) intimidating in the series. I was laughing my ass off with Bethany hating on Cell so much, not only in the fight, but straight-up roasting him as well! Said he had a hard-on for 18, I'm dead 😂😂 One thing I love about the Cell Saga is that it shows a powerful and growing family dynamic between Goku and Gohan and Vegeta and Trunks (Baby Trunks too). Vegeta is such a tough dad to get along with and Goku is friendly and child-like, but never there lol, but we see those dynamics shift a little bit in this arc.

2025-01-20 00:42:48 +0000 UTCProbably added that to make up for us not being able to play as 17 or 16 fighting Cell. They could've let us play as Piccolo and have 17 as a support. Or even given us flashier cutscenes

2025-01-20 00:35:40 +0000 UTCYeah the androids in the present timeline was different. They were stronger and less savage in the future. They didn’t kill the Z fighters when they were knocked out.

2025-01-19 22:46:39 +0000 UTCI really don’t like the Goku~Cell fight. Just… why add it at all? It’s blatant padding in an already padded out game.

2025-01-19 21:21:44 +0000 UTCEh I’d argue there’s 3 levels to it. DBZ: localizes the dialogue to a completely nonsensical sense, changing countless amounts of dialogue and the characters for the worst. DBZ Kakarot: localizes the dialogue more or less word for word (or as close to word for word) to the Japanese version as possible, which leads to a lot of weird pauses and halted line reads due to them having to match the Japanese timing, and also the dialogue just sounds far less natural since it lacks a lot of the nuance the English language has. DBZ Kai: Perfectly adapts the dialogue in both a similar yet different way from the manga, while managing to keep the original meaning intact. Characters like Frieza benefited most from Kai because not only does it keep the original intent of the dialogue, but also enhances it in a way that sounds far more natural and captivating to listen to. Who asked, I know, sorry lol

2025-01-19 19:01:09 +0000 UTCThe dialogue in these games is pretty close to that in DBZ Kai, which in itself is closer to the original manga than its regular DBZ counterpart
