2025-01-24 16:00:16 +0000 UTCI think what's most tragic about Taranis is that he was hidden in his lair during all the centuries between the Great Hunt and when Oryx invaded Sol. A lone Ahamkara and his eggs, with nothing to feed on and only able to whisper to Riven as their kin were hunted down. And then, when he finally returns to the Dreaming City, his mate has been Taken. And while Riven was no mindless slave to Oryx, her corruption and perpetual hunger would've allowed their eggs to be corrupted in turn. And so, Taranis had to sacrifice himself and his love for Riven for the safety of their eggs.

2025-01-24 02:28:59 +0000 UTCKeep in mind, Mara’s powers are both Light and Dark combined, so like Ken said, I’m pretty sure she could’ve broken out of Osiris’ Strand tangles much sooner, and she most definitely broke out of them before he released her. She could’ve easily done away with Riven, but like Bethany stated, Mara is too invested in this plan to get to the Witness, but she could’ve just thrown that plan away by destroying Riven and/or breaking the curse on the Dreaming City. As for Savathun’s wish, she is known as “The Deceiver” for a reason, so there had to be a catch regarding it.
