2025-01-27 18:23:20 +0000 UTCI don't know if they ran out of time or budget, but it's so weird that out of the things cut from this game they picked Vegeta's first use of the Final Flash and Grade 3 Trunks. Especially since this is a lot of people's favorite saga, and even though it doesn't work it's a memorable moment for Vegeta.

Defeat will mean annihilation for every person on the planet. The entire population of Earth, to a man gazing up at me in horror as I watch him take his final gasping breath…” Dameon Clarke’s delivery of it is so amazingly well voiced-acted with genuine malice that it gives me honest chills every time I hear it.

2025-01-26 23:12:56 +0000 UTCNow that we're revisiting the time when they were still relevant, I wanted to give you a round of primers on the different grades of Super Saiyan just for future reference when I and other comments mention them. Apologies if someone has done this before. Super Saiyan Grade 1: The initial form that Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks use pre-Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Grants the transformed Saiyan a 50x power increase from their base form at the cost of their energy being drained quicker. Super Saiyan Grade 2: The form that Vegeta calls "Super Vegeta" which he and Trunks use to fight Semi Perfect Cell. The transformed Saiyan's hair becomes more rigid and their muscles become noticeably more buff. Grants a sizable increase in power from Grade 1 to an unspecified degree. Retains the stamina drain issue of Grade 1. Many fans here in the U.S. commonly referred to it as "Ascended Super Saiyan" before being made aware of these official "grade" labels. Super Saiyan Grade 3: The form that Trunks used to try to fight Perfect Cell (omitted from DBZ Kakarot). It was later briefly used by Caulifla in DBS against Goku. The transformed Saiyan's muscles grow to an unnatural size, and their hair grows incredibly long. Grants the Saiyan an immense power increase from Grade 2, with Trunks' raw power exceeding Perfect Cell's upon using it. However, the massive increase in muscle mass makes this form practically worthless as it makes the Saiyan incredibly slow and drains their stamina at a far greater pace. The DBZ anime had Trunks land a few hits on Cell, but in the manga he never manages to land a single blow. Like Grade 2, this form was widely called "Ultra Super Saiyan" by fans before learning of the official grades. Super Saiyan Grade 4: AKA "Super Saiyan Full Power", this is the form that Goku and Gohan reached after training in the Hyperbolic TIme Chamber. Only grants the transformed Saiyan the 50x multiplier of Grade 1, but at the benefit of being able to stay transformed while being in a relaxed emotional state. This allows the Saiyan to use less energy to activate and maintain Super Saiyan. Based on how Goten and Present Trunks are able to go Super Saiyan w/o raging out, it's implied they mastered this form far more quickly than Goku and Gohan. Super Saiyan Grade 5: The moniker given to Super Saiyan 2 before being officially branded as "Super Saiyan 2" as more characters obtained it in the Buu Saga. Founded by Gohan when he fought Perfect Cell. Causes the Saiyan's golden hair to spike up even more and electricity to spark around their body (though this isn't always drawn, making it hard to distinguish from Grade 4 sometimes). Grants the transformed Saiyan a 100x power increase from their base form.

Also toriyama was asked about if he intended to make Gohan take the leading role after the cell saga He's answer was "I intended to put Gohan into the leading role. It didn't work out. I felt that compared to Goku, he was ultimately not suited for the part" I guess because Gohan's personality and desire to avoid fighting didn't fit that role unlike Goku who actively sought out strong opponents and enjoyed combat also Goku loved going on new adventures which made Goku a better fit for the story's central focus.

The Hyperbolic Time Chamber has other properties besides its time dilation that make it rough to stay in over extended periods. - The gravity immediately amps up to 10x that of Earth's as soon as you step into the void (much like King Kai's planet). - The thickness of the air is about a quarter of Earth's, making it harder to get oxygen. - The temperature fluctuates more wildly the further one goes out into the void, and with no fixed rate at which it changes.
