Yay Chaotic Good 🙂

Bethany and Ken

I remembered telling you guys that Season 2 was my favorite season, but now that I’ve watched it again I’d put it down below Season 1. I definitely agree with you Ken, something about the vibes of Season 2 was a bit off, like it was good, but could’ve been better. Maybe an extra episode would have made the difference, this one showing us more of what a dark avatar could do. I also agree that one of the weaknesses of this season was how some characters like Asami and Lin were kind of left out and not built upon as much, whereas in ATLA our main characters are growing each episode, and how some of the characters introduced in the first season return in the 2nd and 3rd seasons and not just forgotten. I think Season 3 is many people’s favorite and I’m looking forward to watching it again with you guys

The second season is usually considered the least favorite for most people & even the show ends up making fun of Unalaq. Season 3 is a personal favorite & the continued narrative into Season 4 is very important. In regards to a "dark avatar" people are speculating something like that might be possible in the next avatar iteration. All we really know so far about the next Avatar is they're twins who are very opposite of each other.

So this is the explanation of what Jinora directly from the wiki: "A spiritual projection of Jinora appeared during the battle between Korra's spiritual projection and the fusion of Unalaq and Vaatu known as the Dark Avatar. Surrounded by light, Jinora's spirit, also empowered by the Convergence, brought Raava back to the world by utilizing the spiritual energy she had gathered after leaving her father, releasing it and casting a bright light over the Dark Avatar, interrupting his attempted corruption of Korra's projection and allowing Korra to extract Raava before purifying the Dark Avatar." My top 5 characters for this season: 1. Tenzin (for growth) 2. Bumi (for being chaotic good) 3. Mako (for finally figuring out the right thing to do with relationships and actually voicing his reasons for his mistakes more) 4. Uncle Iroh (because he will ALWAYS be a favorite even if he was only in like 3 episodes) 5. Korra (for finally connecting with her spiritual self and wanting to try something different than the past avatars by leaving the spirit portals open) Special mentions: * Bolin * Varrick and Ju Li (can't have one without the other lol) * Tonraq

"Korra unlocks previously untapped spiritual potential and teleports to Republic City to discover a fragment of Raava within Vaatu; both spirits cannot exist without each other and one will always regrow from within the other. Jinora's spirit illuminates the fragment, and Korra withdraws Raava and purifies Unavaatu, killing Unalaq and defeating Vaatu." - So Vaatu is a fragment now inside the spirit of Raava (Korra) and will regrow again.

I get this distinct impression that Ken doesn't like President Reiko. Ah, "Do the Thing." I still say that with my friends occasionally. Aww, I just realized that you got both puppers with you here. I'm pretty sure nobody ever has "Kaiju Korra" on their bingo card, but it's always so fun to see. Jinora: MVP! Appropriate time to tell Unalaq, "Get Bent." "But you can't destroy the darkness." I have a theory about this with the next Avatar series, but I'mma wait until the end of this series to share. Part of me hopes that "The organ that pumps my blood" becomes an occasional callback on this channel. "Please don't use [Asami] as your rebound girl." I can't say what's gonna happen, obviously, on the romance and relationships front, but I think you'll be satisfied. As Kami_Psy said, this may be considered the worst, but it was all a good setup for the next two seasons, which are beloved. The best I could say for what Jinora did is...she became a beacon for Raava. That's the best guess I have. So glad that you both had Bolin and Varrick in your top 5s. Love these two comedic goofballs. On to Season 3. So hype!

Love that Beth took up Jinora. Felt that no explanation was so out of place. Feel like they had no idea how to end this season.

Most people consider season 2 to be the worst season of Korra so if you have mixed feelings just know it's only up from here. Next season in particular is very great.
