I'm sure they have some sort of deal that prevented it, but that really limits them especially since I would imagine more people on Netflix would be interested in dub than on Crunchy Roll. 🤗

So by the time he came to meet Goku & the gang, he had zero information or training. He helped a lot in Super tho, it's more of his status than his strength that makes him useful. I mean he is able to transport to Zeno & btw baby Supreme Kai is painfully adorable 🤣

2025-02-15 11:46:38 +0000 UTCThis episode marks the return of Stephanie playing kid Goku, from what I heard Toei Animation requested her return after she auditioned for Daima. As much as I love Shin, I love that you both give him shit for not doing his job properly 🤣 the return of the power pole was super nostalgic, glad it made it's comeback. I believe the kid voices for all the characters are played by a younger new cast, the only exception of course would be Stephanie, which is really cool.

It's a nice callback to the original series and a great sense of nostalgia for those who grew up watching the original dragon ball.

I got to see the theatrical release for the first three episodes of Diama's dub, and was gonna wait for the dub, but man Toei has really messed up with the promotion of this Anime, from before release with little advertisement, to waiting months to drop the dub instead of doing simuldub like most modern anime now, and only on crunchyroll at that. Especially since Dragon ball is still the biggest money maker for Toei, and this is Toriyama's final completed work (I'm sure there are things he worked on behind the scenes that we'll see later). It's understandable why a lot of fans are aggravated with the handling of this franchise.

2025-02-14 21:29:42 +0000 UTCAnd the outro takes it even further, cause I believe the lyrics there also contain "Tori" and "Yama". It also ends with the shot of a bird flying off. Since the Japanese word for bird is "tori", the shot can be seen as symbolizing Daima being Toriyama's final work.

Coming to terms with that makes this a very special project indeed, and as you'll see, it's chock-full on his charm. I hope you guys have fun with it, because it does truly feel like something special.

The original original Dragon Ball fans who watched the show in the late 80s are in their 50s now 🤣 so this is supposed to be a multi-generational show shared by the whole family.

DB Daima takes place less than 1 year after the Buu Saga, placing it about 3 years before the moment DBS begins with Battle of Gods.

We long thought that the he was native-born to his respective universe, but that seems not to be the case. - Most pointy-earred races in DB likely originate from the Demon Realm, but not ALL of them. This detail is fascinating when you consider who falls under this umbrella. Yardrats, Emperor Pilaf, Dodoria, Mr. Popo, the Kais/Supreme Kais, and more. Any of them could potentially be descendants of ancestors who originated from the Demon Realm. - Denizens of the Demon Realm left their home to seek freedom or conquer planets across different universes. Namekians left out of desire for the former. This practice is no longer allowed.
