Personally, I like world building and lore, so I love the “slow” pace. Also, since the sub is already finished, I can’t seem to escape certain images popping up and spoiling me. But I’m trying to stay strong and only consume the dub releases. But it’s hard being out of the loop for so long.

I didn’t play any Xenoverse until I was prepping for the release of Sparking Zero. The fighting always looked janky and unappealing compared to BT/RB. And the attacks definitely weren’t on those two games’ level. But I played it and it was kind of fun. I think the story would be what I’m most interested in, but I didn’t get deep into (was only playing Kakarot after a bit). But anyway, when I saw that brief SS again, I came up with Super Saiyan Explosive Wave (referencing Super Ex. Wave from BT/RB). Then thought of other better names. Super Explosive Saiyan (kind of similar to the SEW name) and Super Saiyan Explosion. A move specifically for base ofc. But it seems like Xenoverse started it. I also noticed that Xenoverse was also incorporated into Kakarot from what little I know about it as well as “outside” lore being drizzled in with the normal story. Very neat.

So, Goku definitely went Super Saiyan, and immediately powered down. I don't think it's ever been used that way outside the game Xenoverse. It's immense power pushes back enemies. Pretty cool if Toriyama actually incorporated that from Xenoverse. Nicknames for Glorio: Gordito/Goliro, Gordita/Gordida, Guerro.

Its funny people complain about there being to much screaming in the fighting taking up the screen time in old dragon ball and now in daima they complain about how they squeeze to much story in and not enough fighting screen time, Akira cant win Lol

Knight Spearhead

Definitely a setup episode for sure, it's usually the slower episodes that precede the bigger ones. It is funny when Goku says he has a family with his size, and funny enough the same joke is in GT as well (one of his opponents calls him "boy" and Goku yells, "I'm not a boy!). Next episode should definitely get more intense, now that we are being led to becoming more suspicious of Glorio

Definitely more of a setup episode, there are a few of these in the series, but I'd say it always picks up right after them

Loved Daima, but the ending did fall a little flat, which is a shame since it was doing very good with adding lore and keeping the continuity, but there are just to many unanswered things added. I'm sure Toyotarou is gonna have to mend everything together somehow. Still an amazing series and a great send off to Toriyama. Can't believe it's already been a year.

Looking back on it all, I find that Daima has a lot in common with the Buu saga to be honest (which is pretty ironic). Introduces some cool shit and looks great but there's like little to no narrative structure whatsoever and the pacing is all over the place, especially after the first act. (Although the main difference in pacing is that the Buu saga was too long whereas Daima was too short). Still though, if Daima related things are revisited in the future, I would absolutely want them to bring some of the characters back. They were far in a way the best part of the show imo. With that said I don't mind it at all if any future DB projects just want to spin off of the main timeline, and not feel constrained by trying to force everything to tie in to what already exists.

There's a later episode relating to that a little bit, but iirc there's nothing that suggested that the Demon Realm was governed by anyone other than the Demon King.

JT

Not sure whether to ask this here but has it been confirmed if the Demon Realm is governed by Zeno like the universes, I'm not sure whether it is or isn't since it exists outside of the universes.

What i love about Daima is that many, if not all the characters are low key wholesome in their own unique way. I really love Panzy, she's equal parts smart and sassy. Also I have to ask since I've noticed you mention Arinsu in all of the Daima reactions but Ken are u low key simping for her? No judgement here since I too am simping for her as well 😂

Cynergy

I too am a bit conflicted about how Daima has ended, I can only hope some of my questions I have are answered when Super comes back.

Cynergy

Yeah. Tbh I completely understood where you were coming from the last two times. Maybe's it's bc I'm just not much of a "critical" person, but those moments honestly didn't irk me despite knowing that things were likely gonna wrap up the way they did (for the most part). I'll just leave it at that for now tho. Still wanna honor what I said up above.

I didn’t want to keep being a negative nancy under those comments, but the type of “weird”ness you’re experiencing right now is what I experienced from episode 18 onwards. I saw some of these issues coming. They only had 3 episodes, and the way the writing was going gave me no faith they were going to stick the landing in a way that satisfied me. Ever since episode 18 I genuinely started wondering: “what was the point then?”. The gag in the ending of 20 proved my worst fear lol. The fanservice in 19 made me more worried because it hogged up the space of an episode, and we were already short on episodes.

Hohoho

Saw the ending of Daima today, and I have mixed feelings about it. I figure it’s better to elaborate on what I mean once we get to the finale here on Patreon since I’ll have had several weeks to think about it. Didn’t “ruin” Daima for me, but it definitely left me in a weird place. With that being said, I’m still thankful that we, as DB fans, were able to come together for one last big project from Toriyama, even a year after he has left us. Dragon Ball has allowed me to find so many people and media over the years that have had a great impact on me. I know this sentiment is far from unique to me, but I just wanted to express it here since I wasn’t comfortable with commenting online so much during the announcement of Toriyama’s death. Sure enough, the division of DB fans here in the DnD community has helped change that (for better or worse, haha) and allowed me to see how much I like talking about my passions. With that, I can properly say: Thank you, Akira Toriyama

Lore Recap Compilation 5 - Based on what Panzy and Glorio have said, residents of the Demon Realm aren’t familiar with using ki, or even the fact that it exists. Most of their supernatural abilities derive from magic. As Panzy has demonstrated, one such ability among them is telekinesis. - The average Majin lifespan is about 1,000 years. - While the third Demon World is meant to be the home of the commoners, some “smaller” royal families such as Panzy’s reside there. The third world also happens to be the largest of the three.
