Destiny 2 Final Shape Playthrough Part 4

Comments

Ahhh, good ol' Exploder Shanks. Many solo runs have been ended and many a gamepad and keyboard smashed because of those lil bastards. If you're fighting Fallen, be sure to listen for them coming at you from around a corner or behind. Dunno if ya'll are doing it off camera, but be sure to read and/or experiment a lil bit with your armor and weapon stats, as well as your subclasses and their abilities. If the mood to do a little low stakes shooting takes you, head into the Vanguard Playlist from the menu and do Strikes as they're somewhat quick, beginner friendly, and low stakes while giving a decent amount of rewards. Y'all still have the Trascendence subclass equipped, which builds by switching between your Dark (Stasis + Strand) and Light (Arc+Solar+Void) weapons and abilities. Activating gives you incoming damage reduction and more outgoing damage, so it can only benefit you to try and activate it more often by swapping weapons and changing either your grenade or melee to a Darkness version. Speaking of which, your build ATM has Devour which IIRC will start after you get a kill with your grenade or melee. For 10 seconds, any kills you get will restore health and extend Devour's duration. If there's a bunch of red-bar enemies shooting at you and Devour is in-effect (as seen bottom left above your weapons/Super meter), then feel free to be a little bit more bold if you think you can keep the kills rolling in. If there's a large group of enemies or you need to chunk a Boss, use your Super. When fighting Bosses, pay attention to their health bar and where it's segmented. Segments usually indicate when the boss will become invincible or move to a different location, so you don't wanna waste a Super or too much Heavy ammo when they're about to hit said segments.

Here's some information regarding weapons, generally speaking. [Ammo!] Primary, Special, Heavy. In Destiny 2, Primary weapons have INFINITE ammo, while Special and Heavy weapons require picking up green and purple bricks of ammunition respectively. Because of this, if you see a handsome green or purple glowing brick pop out of an enemy after dispatching of 'em, you can take that as a signal to give that respective weapon some love. Something to consider is that, generally speaking, weapons that use Special-ammo deal much greater damage than Primary-ammo weapons. Heavy-ammo weapons are even more extreme in this regard and typically perform well above any other ammo for melting the spongey bosses and minibosses in your dang way. Green shoots hard. Purple shoots harder! 'How do you check what type of weapon you're using?' In the character menu (where you swap out your guns 'n armor), hovering the cursor over a gun gives you its Name, directly underneath which is the Weapon Type (i.e., Shotgun, Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher...) —Right next to its Power number is a colored ammo icon and is written the ammo type, Primary, Special, or Heavy—always in the same color as the ammo brick that drops for it. [Exotic Primaries] Exotic Primary(infinite ammo) weapons uniquely deal super high damage to small fries. The best example of this is your Graviton Lance. [Another Note] Graviton Lance is the king of small fry clearing. If you're going to continue using it, it might be a good idea to pair it up with something close ranged or long ranged that deals meaty single target damage. I would suggest either a Shotgun, a Sniper, or, perhaps a Special ammo Sidearm. Special Sidearms have particularly large ammo reserves, so you'll run out for them far less often than other Special weapons. Make sure it's a Special Sidearm(green ammo), and not a Primary Sidearm(infinite ammo) if you ever do! That said, I think the Scout Rifle gameplay is going much better for you as well. Thanks for the gameplay!!! Also there's a 'gameplay setting' feature that lets you fire every weapon full auto! Everybody uses it so don't feel like it's a bad thing.

huh really

Thank you for the supportive feedback, definitely helpful to get an understanding of how we're doing and how we can improve. Also that is a terrifying fact about the power of the Witness extending so far!

You're getting better, your aim is getting better, you're getting better at keeping your distance when needed and congrats on killing a tormentor by shooting their shoulders and then their abdomen. You did a good job keeping your distance from them as they are dangerous at both close quarters and long range. You also did a good job figuring out the glyph symbol mechanics. If you guys haven't already, I recommend checking out the comments left in part two of the walkthrough as they do provide some other tips you could use. Those exploder shanks at the end that killed you are enemies you never want to get close to or melee, as you learned first-hand. If you see them, keep your distance as close quarters isn't an option when fighting them. Another thing to work on is shooting while moving, you're getting better at it, but there is still some room for improvement as when in open space you usually don't want to stay still unless you are certain you won't get shot at by the enemy. Regardless, good job overall, this is where the story is going to get good. A bit of a scary fact, when the Witness enacted the Final Shape at the beginning of the story it affected not just the physical universe which is potentially infinite in size, but also every other pocket dimension and plane of existence that exists in conjunction with the universe. Like the Awoken Realm where the dreaming city exists, the Vault of Glass, the Ascendent plane, which is also infinite in size, potentially every hive throne world, the realm of the Nine, and all other higher dimensional planes of existence that exist within the universe, including numerous Vex super-structures and fortresses. All of them frozen in a perfect stillness, unchanging and forever static, making the act of the Final Shape easily an outerversal feat of power. Pretty scary to think about.
