Vegeta got real humbled real fast 🤣🤣 “All hail Vegeta, prince of no one”

Oh yeah look at these 10+ examples that's all of the hundreds of thousands of Hollywood movies. You sound really ignorant man, You didn't even respond to me saying; what about all of the Hollywood IPs that Toriyama was inspired by? like 101 dalmations. You cant point towards a minority and claim its a majority. Just because a few movies have references/similarities in them doesn't mean Hollywood as a whole stole from Dragonball. It's literally the "The man who invented the wheel also invented the car" argument. Artists are inspired by other artists which includes movies books shows etc. because I hate to tell you this but Hollywood has been around longer than Toriyama has been alive (he was born in the 60s) Hollywood became a staple for films across the PLANET since the 1920's long before Toriyama was a sperm cell in his daddy's balls. I completely understand that many eastern IPs struggled to break into western culture because of bigotry or cultural divide. But claiming something as stupid as "Hollywood would emulate everything DB did" is just ignorant.

REDE

JT that's half of the story. Don't forget DB is old so a lot of information get's lost when it travels around the world from my home Japan. You should look up Dbz Vs Comic Books the history. There is an entire back story to all of that.

Asuka Yousei 妖精帝國

REDE no offense but that is a very unstudied statement there isn't even a debate about what i said about hollywood emulating DBZ. The proof is literally on youtube lmao. Search "Dragon Ball References In Popular American Cartoons" also ""Dragon Ball Z" References in Film and Television SUPERCUT by AFX" There's an entire compilation of what i said lol. Jackie Chan in "My Lucky Star" dressed as Arale in a fight scene. Matrix Revolutions the directors said that the final fight was inspired by DBZ. In SHANG CHI at the ending credits they mention DBZ because of that reason. I can go on & on lol. They were inspired by the show. Gumball cartoon they literally turn to super saiyans, Powerpuff girls even do it. All of this is documented online. You should research before saying someone is lying.

Asuka Yousei 妖精帝國

Yeah nothing says brains like wagering the multiverse on a good fight (which he does when he's like 20 years older than he is here where he should be more mature)

REDE

"Hollywood would emulate everything that Dragon Ball did." literally just lying lol. Toriyama was inspired by countless IPs from all around the world (Including Hollywood) Taking inspiration or having similarities isn't the same as "emulating" something. Even before Dragon Ball was a thing, in the 70s Hollywood was a thriving industry worth hundreds of millions. The only actual notable instance of "emulation" is Dragon Ball evolution which is mocked world wide for being awful.

REDE

I agree with just about everything ya said except that bit about that Superman gag character. Throughout all of my reading of Dr. Slump and official interviews/Q&As w/ Toriyama, there's been nothing to suggest that racism was the inspiration behind the character (Suppaman). In the Dr. Slump manga, Toriyama explained that he needed a strong character to fight Arale. As he was writing Suppaman, he remembered that the pickled plums that inspired the character's creation tasted absolutely disgusting. Thus, he turned Suppaman into an idiotic weakling out of spite.

So cool you two caught on to how Akira mocks certain cultural things. How you guys catch onto things always impresses me lol. A lot of people don't know this but Dragon Ball in the 80's experienced a lot of racism before it became a household name. A lot of Hollywood in particular would make fun of the asian names in the show & some of the media would say things like "these are not super hero names" etc. There's a filler episode of Dr Slump, an anime created by Akira Toriyama before OG Dragon Ball. In that show Akira mocks Superman for that exact reason, kind of his payback for some of the racism he had to endure. That Superman gag character is also in OG Dragon Ball a filler episode you will see later on. Wanted to tell you so when you see that character later on, you'll know the context behind him. Funny that later on Hollywood would emulate everything Dragon Ball did. Matrix Revolution final fight, the director said was inspired by Dbz, Stan Lee loved Dbz, Powerpuff Girls, Marvels movies humor was inspired by Dbz, especially Guardians of Galaxy, Gumball cartoon, Robot Chickens. I can go on. Akira def stomped out all that nonsense & now Dragon Ball is loved worldwide. 🤗

Asuka Yousei 妖精帝國

This was a great fight for sure, it's fights like these that remind me of like Hit vs. Goku, where the fight is not to kill each other, but to test each other's limits, and the fighters respect each other at the end. I'm definitely curious to see what Majin is being cooked up, and if it will be a Majin like Fat Kirby or one like Keto Kirby lol

Just goes to show that Goku isn't just brawn, but he's also got brains. Many forget that Goku is a strategist. Goku powering up to SSJ2 goes to show that that Tamagami was super strong. Plus that Kamehameha was beautifully done as well as Stephanie doing an amazing job. So, the fight was done amazingly. Skipping a fee frames to show how fast they're going but showing the fluidity at the same time. Seriously, Daima's animation team cooked with this show. I've got to add, as little we see of Vegeta and co. I'm really warming up with Vegeta's VA. Those are big shoes to fill, but damn, they capture Vegeta to a tee.

Jason Rogue

Ken constantly mispronouncing Tamagami throughout the episode gives me the same vibe whenever Goku mispronounces Glorios name, oh how the tables have turned 😂 Good to see Dr Arinsu as always, loved learning more about their plan in this episode. Hearing Stephanie’s battle cries as kid Goku was super nostalgic ❤️

Cynergy

Love Tamagami 3. Guy's just such a beefy goofball. The way he tries to mimic the Kamehameha lol 😁

Lore Recap Compilation 8 - A combat match with a Tamagami does not necessarily need to end up with one fighter killing the other. Surrender is all that’s needed to end the fight. Upon winning the match, the victor must also pass a sort of mental challenge trial to receive the Dragon Ball. Tamagami 3’s happens to be a cup and ball memory game. - Dr. Arinsu was present on the scene when Majin Vegeta blew himself up to eliminate Buu so she could extract a piece of Buu’s body. - While all of the natives of the Demon Realm are “Majin” (which is Japanese for “demon people/person”), Buu seems to be part of a Majin subspecies that can be created artificially through magic unlike the Glinds, Glorio, Panzy, etc. - Marba, the elderly witch introduced in this episode, was the true creator of Majin Buu. Bibidi commissioned Marba to create Buu, and the credit went to him for the pink fella’s creation as time went on. - Once Bibidi had obtained Buu, he wreaked havoc on the Demon Realm. This chaos is what led to the Glinds fleeing from their home in the Second Demon World, in which a few ended up dying in the process. This is a rather grim revelation when you consider what ended up happening to Nahare’s fellow U7 Glinds, who were shown to be slaughtered by Buu back in the Buu Saga. - Buu is considered an “anomaly” compared to standard artificially made Majin subspecies. He was unusually powerful yet also unusually uncontrollable. - Including a person’s DNA as an ingredient when conjuring a Majin will increase the likelihood of the Majin being more obedient to the person who provided their DNA. - The Demon Realm has mud-colored wine. Yes, this was worth noting too.

You certainly won’t be hearing the last of this sentiment from me, but the fight between Goku and Tamagami 3 is simply incredible on all fronts. The animation, choreography, and voice acting. All spectacular! Very much looking forward to how DBZ Kakarot adapts the scene. Based on the available screenshots and trailers we’ve gotten for the first part, it’s possible that the expansion will end right around this episode until the next part comes out next year.
