Dragon Ball Daima 10 Full Reaction

Comments

I’m always confused by Gomah’s surprise that Goku beat the Gendarmes. The kid got a dragon ball from the TAMAGAMI, an unheard-of feat, and he’s surprised a bunch of NPC’s got beaten?

victoria t

when is it stated that they create plant life. Not trying to be combative, just curious.

REDE

Your right about drsgon ball being mostly a comedy, but the fact is that all the series before this had dark and serious moments, tension, and fights. It’s only natural for people to be disappointed that there aren’t any more violent darker elements in Daima.

Blake Hinton

People do the same thing for Super and rightfully so. If it doesn’t live up to doesn’t expectations then they’re valid in thunking that way.

Blake Hinton

😂😂😂

Bethany and Ken

Love this takeaway, "It’s a goofy show with serious moments, and when those serious moments hit, they fucking absolutely hit."

Bethany and Ken

We'd been wondering, thank you!

Bethany and Ken

It's like we know this logically, and yet keep forgetting it in the moment of watching. Thank you for the reminder!

Bethany and Ken

What do you mean by "rebirth"

REDE

It may be because I’m watching your reactions more or less back to back, but I keep thinking I’ve seen your reactions to certain scenes until they come up in the actual reaction. I think it’s just all mixing up together.

k c

Yeah, it’s been getting better since it’s rebirth.

k c

Yeah I think constructive criticism is fine if it makes sense but claiming that Daima is non canon because your unhappy with certain elements of the series is definitely a wild opinion one may have 🤔

Cynergy

Yeah they watch over it, but they create plant life on planets which is a living thing, but will also bring life.

feltskate ._.

Kais don't create life they watch over it.

REDE

Yeah from what ive seen its the older people that watched the original funimation dub that I see hating Diama. Seems a lot of people forget that dragon ball has a lot of comedy and isnt some dark gritty series with only fights. I definitely have my problems with Diama especially the last little bit of the series, But love all the new lore.

feltskate ._.

While I don’t personally think Daima should be free of criticism, a lot of what I’ve seen is “Waaah, it doesn’t tie into Super perfectly” or “It’s Dragon Ball for babies” or stuff along those lines. Although there are some genuine criticisms to be made about Daima, a lot of people seem to completely miss the point that Toriyama never exactly wrote his stuff to be taken super seriously. That’s what I think is so cool about DB. It’s a goofy show with serious moments, and when those serious moments hit, they fucking absolutely hit. Admittedly there are instances in recent years where the writers probably take things too far, or don’t give someone the due diligence it probably deserves, but Daima really doesn’t cross that threshold, at least not by much.

Ugh I find a lot of fans are unhappy with Daima as a whole, pretty much forgetting that this is Toriyamas baby and very last masterpiece before he passed on. It’s honestly sickening and why I refuse to engage with DB fans outside of Patreon.

Cynergy

Hybis was peak comedy this episode, he shot his shot with Bulma and I respect it 😂

Cynergy

Just to let you know, Daima actually takes place BEFORE Super, not after. It’s in between the Buu Saga and Battle of Gods. That’s why Pilaf’s gang weren’t around, why Gohan was still off studying in school and why at the party they said “happy back to existence day Earth” (Because they just wished it back after Buu blew it up)

Dorian Cantu

Seemed like people got mad at anything Diama did. I remember people screaming retcon just because of Rymus being mentioned, even tho I don't think the omni king was ever stated to have created the universe's

feltskate ._.

While it's not confirmed there is a theory that Rymus is like the supreme kai just on the omni kings level. He creates universes and zeno destroys them, just like the kais create life and the god of destruction destroy planets to make way for new ones.

feltskate ._.

The way he was staring at Bulma's ass in the Cell Saga that one time makes me think otherwise.

JT

You're missing something very important. Vegeta's a boob man.

2:00 I'll just quote a Reddit post that was meant to answer this question: "My Japanese boss chuckled when I asked him what 'Jaka Jaan' meant. After recomposing himself, he said while the words don't really mean anything, it is akin to the sound a guitar makes (to the Japanese people). Kinda similar to the way a heartbeat sound is 'doki doki' in their culture."

JT

I love Kuu’s fighting style in this episode. His deranged and chaotic movements, accompanied by his screeching, really give off a combination of Kid Buu and Saibaman vibes (which is exactly what he is).

JT

As I was alluding to last week, a lot of fans got genuinely frustrated or angered by Majin Kuu’s design in episode 9 because of how stupid it looked. I found this rather appalling, because it seemed like people were forgetting that this type of bait and switch shit was Toriyama’s jam lmao. So many of his antagonists start out looking all goofy and either change to have more “serious” designs or get pushed aside in place of another threat. Good ol’ Toriyama. Trolling the audience from beyond the grave.

Lore Recap Compilation 10 This episode. This episode alone is when I knew I would have to make a series of comments like this. What we have here is one of the most condensed lore dumps of the entire DB franchise. Luckily, yours truly has enough brain damage to record all of it. So, without further ado: - Unlike the Third Demon World, the air of the Second Demon World’s atmosphere is not heavy and cumbersome. It does, however, contain seas where gigantic island-sized krakens live. - The original Planet Namek, located in the Demon Realm, is the birthplace of the Ajisa trees that we see on U7’s Namek. The Namekians that migrated from the Demon Realm brought the trees to their new planet to make it feel more like home. Back in the Frieza Saga, Dende explained that a giant storm had once ravaged these trees alongside the surviving Namekians during a time in the history of U7’s Planet Namek. This detail further adds credence to the idea that the Ajisa trees are a symbol of the Namekians’ ability to persevere through great hardships. It adds more significance to the Ajisa tree symbol that appears on Orange Piccolo’s back. - Revive Bugs truly are like Senzu Beans in that they also prevent hunger in addition to healing wounds and restoring stamina. It’s reasonable to assume one bug fills a regular person’s stomach for ten days (same as Senzu Beans). - Namekians were highly valued as servants by Demon Realm royalty for their special powers. - There was once a Demon King in the distant past who had a good heart and wanted to expand the Demon Realm. He ordered a “Super Majin” named “Rymus” to create the universes of the outside world. * NOTE: This fact suggests that the Demon Realm is effectively “Universe 0” since it predates the birth of the original 18 universes Whis tells of in DBS. - Rymus is the highest authority over all of the universes. We had long thought that this status would’ve belonged to Zeno or the Grand Priest, but it seems not. Curiously, his design is very similar to that of Zeno. Whether this is just a coincidence or something that was meant to foreshadow any relation between the two characters isn’t certain. It wouldn’t be the first time Toriyama reused certain design choices for completely unrelated characters. Guess it’s up to future writers to make anything of it. - Upon the Rymus’ creation of the universes, he designated a select group of Glinds to assist in their development and help out the Majin settlers. - Not all species in the Dragon World are descendants of the Demon Realm. Humans and Saiyans, for instance, only came into being AFTER Rymus created the universes. - The Glinds settled on a planet near Rymus in case they were called upon to assist in cultivating life across the universes. - Dabura’s father, Abura, prevented the Majin from using Sir Warp to travel freely out of fear of being invaded by the species spawned across the new universes. Nahare was one of the few Glinds who initially stayed under Abura’s reign, but eventually left after being selected as a Supreme Kai not long after. - The Glinds decided to leave the Demon Realm once the 5 Great Glind Trees perished, as there was nothing left for them there. As Bulma mentions, this means that the remaining Glinds are the last that there will ever be of their people. In retrospect, this adds another layer as to why the Supreme Kai were so fearful during the T.o.P arc. The few remaining members of their race were about to be on the brink of extinction.
