Yea its so cool how they managed to connect the 2

Knight Spearhead

So I've mentioned before during the first part that during the game you can find 3 memories that happened throughout AC3. Doing so unlocks a short video of Connor and Washington. During the first episode we see Connor relaxing by a fire while Washington gallops and then stops, gazes at Connor from a far and then gallops towards him. Connor notices and looks his way and then it ends. The second episode once you find all 3 memories the video that is shown is Washington gas a conversation with Connor about how he's been having fantastical dreams, like paradise. No war, just him in Mount Vernon with, I'm guessing his wife, Martha. Somehow Connor is in them as well, and then proceeds to pull out the Apple, saying that it might be because of this. The last episode, after finding all 3 memories is Washington stating that he acquired the apple from an officer in Yorktown but he cannot remember the officer's face. Connor then reaches out and asks to see it, to which Washington pulls back, and again states that the Apple must be the reason why he's having these dreams before both of them touch it and it "explodes" creating this alternate reality where Washington becomes King and mad with power. Yes, this whole DLC is because the Apple created an alternate reality. This is the end of Connor's story, at least chronologically. You still have the Homestead missions to look forward to. I also hope y'all remember to watch the Desmond journey and Subject 16's as well. I'll drop those links again if ya need them.

Okay, so, to explain how Connor learns about his grandfather despite in game never learning about him. In the novel Assassin's Creed Forsaken, the one I've talked about during the hanging of Connor. After the events of AC3, Connor comes into possession of his father's, Haythem Kenway, journal. That's how he learns of his grandfather, Edward Kenway. I won't spoil who that is and why this is such a nice little reference, but damn it, it made me happy to have the connection on why Connor is so adept at being Captain of the Aquila.
