So now, the intro's display of meeting Yamcha and Pilaf's castle feel like so long ago. Now that I know that "Roshi" means Master, seeing the Japanese subtitles say, "Turtle Hermit" while hearing "Master Roshi" feels funny...but also fitting, given Toriyama's writing. That looks like that must make his tail sore. The first beam struggle. Ain't it beautiful?... and seizure inducing? Ha! "I'll have to think up a strategy during the commercial." The decades-old precursors to ultra instinct...drunken boxing and crazy monkey. Credit where it's due; definitely one of the most amusing fights in all of Dragon Ball. Hell, I could go for some medicinal tequila. (It's 9am at the time of watching) "Has Goku ever gotten sick?" I... don't 100% remember, but imma just tuck this question away for later.

2025-05-10 12:49:13 +0000 UTCLMAOOOO every time Bacterian comes on the screen you guys lose it 😂 Goku is a martial arts expert inside of that goofy personality of his, and funny enough that tends to be typical of a lot of shonen anime protagonists (remember Naruto and Luffy lol 😂). And I also like how we first see the trope of “learning as they fight” in this episode, and how this trope is used throughout the series, most notably by Buu, Hit, and DB Super Broly
