Thank you for this context! It's interesting how in Asian cultures it seems the non-family Aunt/Uncle title is given by the child, if I am understanding this correctly, while in Western Culture it is not uncommon for good friends of the parents to be given those titles by the parents when the child is super young (too young to even know what they mean) that the child then grows up with.

Ah, helpful to know this!

I already sent the playlist for Version 3 on Discord. Please respond with an emote to confirm you have it. Also, please do not skip the first 2 videos I put before the first quest. Because the cutscene is just meant to help connect what the story trailer is about. And you haven’t seen it for 2 years, so it fans watching will definitely appreciate the refresher.

Some folks have already explained Gorou and his strained relationship with Yae Miko. He’s the strait laced guy who gets easily flustered if someone knows how to tease him. And Yae Miko LOVES to tease people. Especially him. And remember that last bit where she says she’s going to make him wear woman’s clothing? Well, turns out she has this magazine category where someone named “Ms. Hina” gives life advice to ordinary folks and it’s super popular. Thing is, Ms. Hina is just a gender bent Gorou. Looks exactly like Gorou if Gorou was a girl. So she’s getting her laughs while making money too.

To answer as to why Klee and Yoimiya weren’t allowed to use their signature explosive tools. This is just pure speculation by fans and has not been explained by any developer. They wanted to explore both characters without their signature gimmicks and showcase other parts of their personalities. Kind of like how we recently saw the backstories of the 4 characters in the Golden Archipelago. Not exactly the same thing, but the point is they wanted to try something different that conflict with what the event was about. Which is books.

To answer why Klee kept referring to the lady as Auntie. It’s an Asian culture thing when addressing people you either really like or see as family despite not being blood related. In a lot of Asian languages, there are honorics added when speaking to about someone. Honorifics being essentially like titles that set what the relationship between the individuals is. So for Klee, who is very kid coded and likes anyone who treats her well, she’ll refer to them as auntie or uncle if they look more mature. If it was someone a little younger like say Albedo, she would just say their names unless she really likes them like family, then she’ll add big brother/sister before saying their name. So it’s just something from Asian culture that they try to localize in for Western countries. So especially for you two that watch anime English instead of Japanese/Korean/Chinese dubs, it’s gonna be strange no matter what.

Ah, this is SUPER helpful to know and help us understand his reaction.

Another thing that you won't find out unless you do the hang outs which i don't expect you to do is that Yae miko used gorou likeness to make a character named Ms. Hina. Gorou writes for an advice column and it's ask Ms. Hina (I forget the proper name) and she made basically a genderbended version of him as "Ms. Hina" and everyon is like in love with her having no clue that it's been Gorou the whole time

I've played this game emberassingly too much but this just makes me want to play it again....oh well...here i go. 😂😂😂

Asuka Yousei 妖精帝國

So with Gorou and Yae Miko it's really a situation of in the background of the series, they establish that Yae loves messing with Gorou. Gorou while being a general is very, innocent and well mannered making him very easy and fun to mess with for Yae. Due to this, Gorou has basically developed a fear of her and tries to avoid literally anything to do with her as her teasing has made him severly paranoid of anything involving her. So the reason he was so skittish and seemingly overreacted to a lot of things is due to that. It feels like it comes out of nowhere as this is the first time they've shown this dynamic on screen and not from background lore.
