final tests, water tests and ground texture previews

Hi Guys,

So I thought I'd drop a few quick images while I have my lunch, you can see here some work on a test tile where I thought I'd experiment with the ground textures too while I had the chance - the idea is to have variety among the river banks, some more dirt, some more small river stones, some more rocky and treacherous...

the first two is the test tile, with some dirt thrown over. its drying, so some of this will be getting brushed off, but I think it's looking awesome! 😃

The second two were a bit of playing to see what it would look like on one of the larger 6" tiles, which would be mostly where I'd use these varied textures. on the smaller 3" gap fillers, there isn't much space to blend from dirt to rock back to dirt again so they'll all line up...

finally these are some water colour tests I did with resin, trying to get back to the version I showed in the water mix. I didn't quite manage it, but I quite like what I ended up with, the slightly algae tinted green in the middle. not weirdly shadowed like the black tint on the left, or swamp water like the one on the right...

I did test browns, but I honestly wasn't quite happy with the result. they often came out either too dark or too red tinted. I could experiment more but with a good version I'm happy with, I don't want to spend any more time than has already been used by this 😅
