Hi guys!
In the final stretch of crafting now, as you can see the islands, magnetic bushes and tufts are all done, as are the new grassland tile edges, including a solution for giving ugly square edges some beautiful curves! Albeit without the green layer of static grass on yet π
Versions of these edge curves for Mountainblocks hopefully incoming with the magnetic V3 of those, which I'm aiming to work on after this - just in case you've got mountains planned ;)
There's also a photo there of the curved clip on for hills, this is great for using them either with the rivers or on the edge of canyons and such using mountainblocks :)
You might notice the trees looking a little different - I've experimented with a new material as part of this project, GSW micro leaves. These are now flocked with the medium green which I think gives a much more vibrant and alive feel to the plant life than I got originally! I may keep a few with the original colours but I'm definitely tempted to give the others a quick recolour with these...when I have timeβ’
Finally I zoomed out a bit - the lighting here isn't perfect, I had to set it all up downstairs because I really don't have the space upstairs right now - so please forgive the lack of black background and limited lighting π
You can see on that final zoomed out picture the difference in flow from the larger curves to the smaller, I really think this helps sell 'realistic river', as its rare that natural rivers look as 'copy-and-paste' as the average river tiles you see! they tend to bend at different angles depending on how the land flows and how hard the rock is :)
Oh, and the corners in the bottom right of this picture LOOK a little square - they aren't! it just looks that way without the water :) they actually curve in a kind of S shape, especially when used in a thinner river without the spacer tiles!
I cannot wait to get the first batch of resin done and start seeing those ripples π
