The timeless beauty of Hana Rose. This image was made in the Catskills on the same day as the waterfall image posted a day or two ago. It is a simple scene, but is is made lovely by the quality of the light bouncing onto Hana from outside the photo framing. The intention of the day was waterfall photos, and we made some lovely ones, but it is always worthwhile to take a look around and see where the 'special light' is falling. Oftentimes, a photographer becomes mesmerized by the beauty of the scene, or by the beauty of the model, and forgets to really see where the special light is. The best photographs combine a beautiful subject with the special light. But you have to look for it, and for making meaningful photos, it's the best friend you have.
