A clarification for patrons and prospective patrons

We appreciate Monique sharing our photo. However, we need to make a clarification/correction: It is true that we started our Patreon in late 2016 as a means to generate funds to donate to nature charities. We thought it was a brilliant idea at the time. Some unexpected concerns presented themselves about accountability and affiliation, and we realized that arrangement was untenable. We made a post on Patreon in late 2016 or early 2017 making it clear that the Patreon pledges were no longer directly going to nature charities. While we certainly support nature charities aggressively, and believe in and encourage a thoughtful approach to conservation here on Patreon and elsewhere, there is no direct correlation between our Patreon fundraising and charitable donations at present. We apologize for any confusion and certainly do not want anyone to be misled.
