The Woodstock School of Art is remarkable place, offering classes in painting, drawing (including figure drawing), sculpture and printmaking, within an historic complex of stone buildings. The school was started in the early 20th century with encouragement, and perhaps support, from Eleanor Roosevelt. We offered to teach photography there, but for some reason, sadly, they never felt that photography should be part of their program. But, on occasion, they did allow us to shoot in one of their beautiful natural light studios. This large format 8x10 Polaroid portrait of Hannah was made in that studio in 2008.
