Tuesday Trio! - Zineb on the Dunes
Added 2021-06-22 16:34:57 +0000 UTCA blistering hot day in the dunes of extreme Southern California. We were driving from San Diego to Phoenix and stopped to grab a few images. I was using a new medium format film camera that day, if memory serves a Rollei 6008, or something similar. The camera was inadvertently set to bracket exposure (I'll blame the heat), so most of the images on the two rolls I shot were either under or over exposed. Thankfully, a few were printable. Weirdly, I had another mishap with this same camera. It was in the early days of rechargeable batteries (nickel metal hydride?), which were notoriously inclined to lose their charge from just sitting around. I was on a whale watching boat off Southern California. Just as the orca came close and gave us the eye, my battery died <groan>. I had captured a few distant glimpses of orcas that day, but I missed the 'money shot'. I got rid of that camera shortly thereafter.
