Time for a Survey - Color or B&W?
Added 2021-03-02 23:19:58 +0000 UTCSo, we've asked this before, but we have several new Patrons so it seems like a good time for a followup. My sense is that I have been posting more color recently than in the past, the change partly based on input from the last time we asked this question.
How do you feel about the balance of color vs B&W that we are currently posting?
Comments
At the higher tiers I occasionally post multi image sets with both the color and B&W versions of the images. It's a bit more work, so I only do it if I think it's worth the trouble. Additionally, images with less than perfect exposure are easier to adjust tonally in B&W. And, some images just have more 'pop' in color but are less compelling in B&W. An example would be these recent 'abstract' Melissa images. I'm happy for the comments!

2021-03-03 14:21:19 +0000 UTCI agree with J E R.. Some of the sets are just better in B&W and others in color. Think the balance is perfect on here...

2021-03-03 11:11:25 +0000 UTCI liked the series you had at one point of publishing the B&W and Colour pair of photos. The survey allows for multiple answers. Are you OK with that, or should we just stick to one answer?

2021-03-03 09:17:27 +0000 UTCI certainly agree with that. Personally, I enjoy the variety as well. Other than Patreon, we almost exclusively share our work as B&W, and likewise, our gallery prints are typically B&W (unless someone requests otherwise). Patreon is a bit of a special case, because we post so much content here, and also because it does seem that most of our Patrons like the variety. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Glad you're enjoying the work!
