Jodha Akbar's story and specially this movie, from everything starting from ambience, the real forts and palaces used as sets, the costumes, the detailing is MAGNIFICENT! I can't imagine the kind of research that must have gone into making this movie a one of its kind. Just to give you some context, Akbar was known to be the best Mughal ruler of the Mughal dynasty which began from the 13th century to 16th century. Why Akbar stands out the most is because his father Humayun ( Mughal ruler of India) was defeated in another Indian war and had to flee India back to Persia (present day Afghanistan/Turkey, and had to leave his just born son - Akbar in a friends palace in west India. Akbar not only was a Indian by birth but he grew to live away from parents, away from the lavish and luxury of the royal family - as a normal kid - who was then put on the throne again at the age of 14. Akbar not only treated India as his own country, but was the most generous, giving, and culturally the most accepting king, and the Mughal dynasty saw its peak during this time. He has a son with Jodha who was Jahangir, and the family chain then went on. This movie might have its ups and downs and maybe some incorrect depictions, but to a complete outsider like you guys, this movie, I would say, did a pretty decent job into our vast Indian history. On a lighter note, if you ever plan on coming to India, all these forts, palaces, even the jewels from this time are preserved. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making me relive this favourite movie, kudos to you guys!

As a movie its great. There are millions of political dimensions to the backstory of the movie. And objectively speaking there is no middle ground to this one way or the other both sides have very strong arguments.
When you do release on YT be prepared for the comment sections its very polarizing.
