This YCH was a trial run of something new, adding custom textures. Now I know a lot of digital artists keep stock images of textures they want to use but I’m not too eager to follow suite. The traditional artist in me still wants to do them manually, which I did here!
I imagine the trick is to figure out how to do brush strokes quickly and easily to give the impression of a material. Feedback I got in stream doing this was very positive so it looks like I’m going in the right direction!
