Well, I didn’t know about this Statement from Isayama, I guess I interpreted (is this the right word? I’m german so I don’t know) it wrong; I really ship Eren and Annie tho... That scene with Hange was hilarious ^^

Mikasa threw Reiner at Eren and Annie because she was jealous. It’s sad they leaved it out of the Anime, but in the Manga Eren and Annie had a very close relationship, Annie had a crush on Eren (not so obvious, because it’s Annie ^^) and Eren on Annie. Pretty sure that's what he was referring to. I know exactly what he meant, season 2 had time constraints so some scenes were more rushed than others, there's a clear disparity in several episodes between the "basic" animation he's referring to and the really good looking ones (flashback of episode 1, Eren and Mikasa in that room with the window open, episode 5 in the snow/ending, episode 3 with the ending scene, a lot of Sasha scenes in episode 2, Ymir's transformation in episode 4 and many, many others I didn't mention so far up until now in ep 7).

can someone explain what did he mean by when he said the "animation is Basic"!?. cause i genuinely not find any thing wrong with that shot of armoured. or was he talking about the walking shot of armoured just before when he was far away as it doesn't look as detailed as close up shots look!? .

Couldn't agree more about cinematography, they really stepped up their game here. Also, I think the directing in season 2 is tonally bit more dark and serious and closer to the tone of the manga. Dunno, but I personally way prefer season 2 to 1 in many ways.

The animation is SICK!!

Pure titans are based on drunk people and isayamas friends. Isayama apears as a pure titan in episode 2 season 1. Armins voice actor appears as a pure titan at some point. I think season 3.

I have to admit, when I watched this episode for the first time, I was kinda rooting for Reiner and Bertholdt (two of my top fav characters along with Annie and Ymir). I mean, I love Eren and friends, but Reiner and Bertholdt hold my heart!

Not a fan of fighting or mma but can definitely appreciate the thoughts behind the techniques used in the episode. Such a technical and strategic fight. Not just who can punch harder or shout louder. And yes the creator, Isayama is a fan of mma. Fun Fact: Armored Titan is based off Brock Lesnar and Eren’s Titan is based off a Japanese fighter Yushin Okami who, after I googled, can recognise the jawline. Really interesting stuff from the creator. Oh and the non-intelligent titans are based on drunk people

Man I forgot how disgusted Eren was with Reiner during this battle. He's always one to feel a lot, but I don't think we've seen it to this extent yet. Also one my favorite shots in the show is when Reiner is charging at Eren and it slows down to show these two birds flying next to Reiner. Just beautiful. The cinematography in this season really stepped up and there's still some more breathtaking shots to come.
