idk who this episode was incredible. Blew me away how well done it was. The whole Reiner-Eren tense situation was insane, with the build up of the music and Willy's speech. This episode was amazing.

The reason he reacted this way is that even though Willy said it, his declaration of war pretty much means Willy and everyone outside of Paradis don't think the islanders deserve that same freedom. It's a very sad smirk that Eren makes when he hears it. It's him accepting that they will never be seen as equal humans.

He doesn't have to be better than anyone. After all, just look at him...He's so cute! He's already special. Because he was.... born into this world."

2021-02-06 05:26:04 +0000 UTCTotally agree. We got a conversation between Eren and Reiner with both of them knowing each other's background, unlike the conversation they had in season 2 episode 9. And during that conversation, willy was revealing new information and rewriting the history of Marly and Eldia. And personally, what hit me the most, is that their conversation ended up with Reiner breaking down and admitting that he was the reason for Eren's mother death

Eren reacted a little because its the same reasoning that made him wake up from sleep in season 1 when Armin was trying to wake him up (episode 12 or 11 I think) Armin asked him "Why do u wanna see the outside world" Eren responded: "because I was born into this world" ... I do not know the significance of this phrase but Eren reacted when Willy said it...
