He even said "We are wasting time" he still considering himself part of the task force, just by saying "we" it means he wants to leave there and catch the "real" kira (in his eyes). We never saw this part of Light, only 10 mins in the first episode and it was at the school, after that was always Kira, no Light. And btw yes, about the mic, sounds fine for me in quality, only low in volume.
