its an amazing show, it doesnt match the SNK's suspens and story but the visuals, the music and the emotions are amazing

I like the attention to detail with this show. When they show Vinland, they put natural domestic flowers which are found in Canada.

On a side note, I'd prefer a more literal translation for one of Thors' lines. Nothing wrong with translation, mind you, but I find literal one to be slightly more poetic and nuanced. When Thors talks about Vinland to the dying slave, he said "it's a land without slave traders and war." in translation. Original goes "it's a land which neither slave traders nor the flames of war can reach." For some reason I find the notion of not only being in place without slave traders and war, but in place where they don't reach, and will not come one day a bit more... mmm... reassuring?

Vinland Saga has a phenomenal OST! It has this distinct mix of orchestra, horns and synthies, and is just great.

That first scene is so special to me, it tells you a lot about Thors and the story as a whole. I like that the show really takes its time with this first episode, we linger on every moment and the visuals/OST really help with letting everything sink in. Very excited to go through S1 again.

Looking forward to this despite it not being the top of my list (I think the show is amazing I just couldn't get into as much as others). I am still a complete shill for Re:zero and hope there is a time you can get to it, but with the large list of great anime I would not be surprised if that is a big dream

This show is historically accurate, it is based on Viking history and sagas (And of course there is fictional parts in the show it but nothing that derails from the actual history) The author took liberties in parts where the actual history isn't clear or missing (like some character personnalities, childhood and stuff like that) They actually released the 3 first episodes at the same time, so the 3 first episodes are all kinda like a whole big first episode to the show.

I won't regret watching you". In all seriousness though. I loved your AoT reactions and discussions and plan on sticking around to see your thoughts on Vinland Saga. I binged it for the first time recently to prepare myself to watch it with you. Its going to be a good time.

YESSSS!!! So glad to see you finally react to a Seinen show instead of a Shonen. Seinen's are generally darker and more mature in tone and focus more on themes and storytelling than flashy battles so they can seem a bit slower, but I'm excited to see your take on this masterpiece! Vinland Saga's also done by WIT studio which did the first 3 seasons of AoT! Hope to see you react to more Seinen in the future (my personal recommendation is Psycho Pass! Think Minority Report but anime) :)
