Golden Kamuy and HxH for longer series to watch!

Watch HunterXHunter. You're going to unlock a whole new fanbase. I know what you're thinking when you see it but trust the HxH recommendations. Its truly special.

SwordAndSavior

Has anyone mentioned Ghost in the Shell yet? Because that one's worth a watch too.

It's at the "My membership" page. Scroll down a bit then you'll see the list of shows/anime he's interested in.

m_yshd

where do you see the list?

Hmm hmu

I'm pretty sure next episode already has the new opening (which I don't recommend watching cause it contains spoilers). So if you want to see the first opening you'll have to go back to one of the previous episodes. Also, I recommend Fate Zero.

I've commented about it before, but I think you would love Sonny Boy. It's a surrealist take on the coming-of-age story and every second of this show is just pure art. Here's an album of some screenshots taken from the show https://imgur.com/gallery/kXmLhOn Other than that, I would also recommend Paranoia Agent, Mushishi, Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju and Space Brothers. Side note, I saw you added Fate/Zero to your list. Good stuff 😉

I recommend Shinsekai Yori (From the new world)

I think Monster would actually be good for reactions and discussion. For instance the reaction channel Semblance of Sanity did Monster a few years ago and they had some really strong and long discussions out of it.

Oof how could I forget one of the most important aspects of 86!!! Yes, Sawano and Yamamoto's music is one of the best parts of that show... They also did the music for Kingdom (only starting from the 3rd season though) Cant believe i actually forgot about Sawano and Yamamoto lol...

Kat

Just finished 86 and loved it! Agreed with the amazing direction and cinematography. Offers something real unique for an anime! Also since I know Im loves his soundtracks, just wanted to point out that the score is done by Yamamoto and Sawano 👀

I second the Monster issues. It's 74 episodes long and whilst the pay-off is worth it for a solo watcher, 1 episode/reaction a week is gonna be a bit much imo. I'd say either churn 2 episodes per sitting or watch it solo tbh.

Thank you for all the recommendations!! 🙌🏼

I agree with all the other comments are mentioning "Monster" which is quite similar to Vinland Saga in a lot of ways, BUT I really don't think its quite suitable for a reaction series since it has many extremely slow paced episodes with little happening. So your discussion portions would probably end within 5-10 minutes. I would definitely say its amazing and definitely worth watching, but I am not sure how good it would be for reaction content. Other than that, I would say something like "Golden Kamuy" or "Kingdom" are probably right up your alley for anime/ manga that have amazing stories which you can delve into and have long discussions about the plot. "Kingdom" specifically has some amazing military strategies and political cunningness which you wouldn't find in any other anime, but the problem with the show is that the first season has terrible animation/ production quality, so most people would simply recommend the manga over the anime. "Golden Kamuy" on the other hand would be amazing for a reaction series because it has many exciting moments along with some great writing for you to theorize about. Also, since you seem to enjoy some good cinematography. I would suggest you give "Eighty-Six" a try because it has some of the best directing and cinematography you would ever find, not just in anime, but even compared to live action series. Although the story itself is just "pretty good" and not "god-like" like AoT or Vinland Saga. If you want something that has all of these aspects, AND is also produced by Wit Studio (The same studio that produced Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga). I would recommend you try out "Ranking of Kings". It has some amazing and complex characters, with some really good writing (although it has some "childish" moments at times) and amazing animation quality and cinematography. TL;DR: Just to summarize since this ended up being quite longer than I wanted to make it, I think you can't go wrong with any of the following, regardless of whether or not you would actually do a reaction series for them, they are simply "worth watching": 1- Golden Kamuy 2- Monster 3- Kingdom 4- 86 (Eighty-Six) 5- Ranking of Kings

Kat

To throw some variety, I would recommend Golden Kamuy. It does an impressive job with developing characters (even the ones you might consider to be secondary). It strikes a good balance between history, comedy, action, and character development.

Haven’t seen anyone mention it yet so I’ll throw out the obligatory Steins;Gate recommendation. It is another time travel story so you may not want to dive in to it anytime soon with you watching AoT and Dark and whatnot. But the 1st season is the same length as Vinland Saga and has a very similar pacing. With a relatively slow first 10 or so episodes and then kicks it into high gear for the remaining episodes. It’s a brain tingling thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat begging for more.
