Rory brings so much to the show. An mvp for sure. Interesting how after Rory confronts the Doctor with his view of how people die to impress the Doctor the Venician blows himself up, protecting the Doctor. Although I believe he would have done that anyway to avenge his daughter, sacrifice is part of human nature, but its not a part the Doctor likes, hence Eccleston's "For once, everybody lives!" Matt Smith acts a bit angrier when Amy and Rory return to help him before he climbs the belltower, which implies to me the Doctor blames the Venician's death on himself, thinking its part of Rory's theory that humans die to impress him. Surprisingly good episode, the historical setting ones typically are though.
