This episode feels kinda nostalgic, there was an early 3rd Doctor story very similar to this one with an alien race also called the Silurians. Albeit they looked a lot less relatable than the Silurians we see here. Modern Dr. Who seems to like to make the alien species look more human to make them more relatable although I kind of like the more outlandish retro designs. This story is a lot shorter and contains a lot more drama though, especially since a lot of the 3rd Doctor stories were in 4 to 6 parts and contained lots of scenes of people just driving from one location to another location and other various filler.
