Series 5 is my favourite series of Doctor Who, but that two-parter is definitely the low point. A better writer could have made this a fast-paced, concise, single episode. The final few moments of the second part was obviously Moffat-mandated to develop the seasonal storyline, but the rest is all Chibnall.

2022-05-03 06:12:35 +0000 UTCThis episode is very clunky and dodgy and weird but it has so many great moments and ideas, so I find myself liking it more and more as time passes. Also reminds me quite a lot of Classic Who, a bit of a slower pace. You're so right about that camera that's zooming and focusing all around for no reason haha. My only headcanon solve for that is that maybe the Silurians have AI cameras. When you made the last episode's thumbnail that image of Rory standing in an empty grave, I thought you might've clocked some foreshadowing for his fate hehe.
