It’s been such a pleasure watching you experience season 5. A few dud episodes but the overall experience was wonderful and very cohesive. And the Tardis team of Eleven, Amy and Rory (with River on occasion) has never been soo strong for me. I think what works for this finale where the other finales failed is that it never felt convoluted and over ambitious. There’s no big bad (only an implied force that we haven’t met yet) and it’s time travel structure is very simple. It really reminds me of the structure used in the time turner sequence in prisoner of Azkaban. Simple is sometimes best especially when it comes to writing. Also on a different note but I saw on Twitter today it has been 14 years since Silence in the Library aired! That felt soo surreal to think that it’s been that long since I saw the start of River’s story. Now onward to season 6 and of course the Christmas special! Personally it has some of my favourite episodes in the entire series soo I’m pretty pumped

Something I love about this finale is how personal it feels. Not just the last half of the episode - which is absolutely one of my favourite resolutions to a sci-fi series/season ever - but the fact that really, this episode is JUST about Doctor, Amy, Rory, and a bit of River. There's not even a big bad of the episode, it's just the fallout of the last episode. And it's fantastic! Special shout-out to Matt Smith especially for being both the youngest actor to portray the Doctor while also having his portrayal truly embody the sense of an ancient alien being. I've seen him get flack for his Doctor being "childish" but he balances on a line between ancient and brand-new. He's absolutely chaotic and a thrill to watch, but that just makes these moments stand out that much more. So glad you liked this episode!

"We're all stories in the end, just make it a good one." It's probably my favourite line of the entire show. I know what it means in context, but to me it's always been a reminder to actually live life, to do something with it. To make of your life something that other people would want to learn about.

Series 5 is my favourite series of Doctor Who! To me it's the one that's the most consistently good.
