End of May Update

Hello everyone! time for an end of the month update. Thank you all for the wonderful support and continued interest you have shown in my content! I hope the content itself has been engaging and entertaining.

Right then, So I will be continuing with the three series lineup for a bit. Recently I've been contemplating why Channel growth and engagement isn't quite where I expect it to be. The glaring problem appears to be the lack of content for new stuff, be it stuff airing at the moment or new games. I certainly need to tap into the buzz and engagement something new brings, of course the tricky bit is finding the right new thing to focus on, as I will never jump into something I have no interest in.

That's one of the reasons I want to keep the lineup a bit small at the moment, so I can work in a new series when the right opportunity presents itself, again be it Anime, Live action shows, Gaming. I certainly believe that I could be, and perhaps should be a 100k sub channel, yet I'm not even close to 50k subs yet. So I do want to change things up a bit, because the channel has stagnated a bit.

Thank you!

Ooooh I'm super excited about all 3 of those you mentioned, especially 1899.

Looking forward to Chainsaw Man reactions the most! Also fingers crossed that Yakuza 0 and Nier Automata are among those games. Would love to see you play those.

Squidlord

While I definitely want to watch it someday, it’s quite the commitment. I think right now I’m looking to integrate brand new stuff, something that’s coming up in the next few months. A few of the things I might be interested in have been mentioned through out this thread, stuff like 1899 (which is a lock), Chainsaw Man, House of the Dragon (given my history with GoT) there are some new games on the horizon as well.

Consider reacting to Jojo. It's very popular so it would probably bring in views. It would also freshen up your line-up, that mostly consists of fairly serious shows about time travel/mystery, with some pulpy adventure.

Squidlord

Definitely noticed the surge of movie reactions over the last year. Lol surprisingly a lot of people haven’t watched some very popular movies 😁 Honestly speaking, Cant really see myself doing movie reactions, not really how I like to experience movies.

FILMBuFF

I have watched the first season, it’s not really for me. Can’t say I’ve had the urge to continue with it.

I totally understand your reasoning and frustration. Most content creators have to go through this at some point. But as you said yourself, there is no need to do anything just for the audience, if you aren't really interested in it. For me it was the depth of your analysis and the profound knowledge that you shared with you, that made me sign up on Patreon at all. So please hold on to that concept and let the numbers be numbers. If you are looking for new content, then look out for something challening like Dark, cause I feel that is, what you are best at and where you're out of everyone's class. But as I said, don't force it, it will come to you with some distance. Also concerning Dark: I have watched the whole show like half a dozen times and I can assure you that season 3 will get tiring in many ways. Not as in boring, but it takes the show to another level and you'll have to be even more focussed. So it might really be a good idea to rewatch and come back with new momentum.

the reaction is not finished

Slaizio

he has already seen death note, or maybe he was meant to write another series

Thomas kjellerup

Consider to react to Stranger Things. It has a big hype because of season 4 and its really good.

Slaizio

Well I suppose that should be brought up. I understand the problems people could have of it but I still see it as something that given the culture it comes from, it can be ignored. The fact is the story is fictitious and does not preach about how you should feel about it's inclusion. Nevertheless, it is good to know going into it

It's just so hard to believe that your channel is as "small" as it is (of course, nearly 50k subs is still a huge accomplishment) when your content is this amazing. I feel like a pretty high percentage of people who find your content will become long-term viewers, you make some of the only "reaction" content on the platform that is worth watching no matter what the subject is.

Advesha

To be honest if in the future Im does react to naruto it would be legendary. I'm just not sure what the strategy to upload his reactions would look like, unless he does multiple episodes per video it would take almost a decade to complete it. Obviously if he were to even think about reacting to it, he would need to be in a more stable position where he has more time to spend on this channel, which we all hope that he gets as soon as possible.

+1 for Made in Abyss. Just be aware going into it that the author has a... thing for kids.

Conf3tti

Just adding to this, in case you chose Made in Abyss, it would probably work best for the algorithm if you release a episode 1 reaction right before season 2 airs (like a day or two). This might put you out a bit, but I hope it would more than compensate that with the extra traffic. Chainsaw man you would want to be on the first episode as fast as you literally can be, which would also be quite the annoyance I imagine (you would not believe the speed that some reactors work to try and help themselves in the algorithm). Whatever you choose, I am sure I will find enjoyment in your reactions.

RandomThorn

I love Arcane but I actually think the amount of search for it would have died down quite substantially. I do not think it would be a bad choice, there will certainly still be people looking, just perhaps not the best way for engagement (though I could be wrong, I'm down to watch it again but I am def not searching for new reactions)

RandomThorn

Made in Abyss would be a great choice if you get to it soon, as the new season is right around the corner which will probably have people looking for a good way of rewatching it. I can certainly agree with Chainsaw man as it will probably be huge, but if you want to stick to the choices on your list I am 100% for Made in Abyss. That said, I believe the most important thing is to be watching these shows as they air (Made in abyss season 1 should be fine). Also, while I personally love your thumbnails, there is a chance you are a bit too small in them to grab people's attention (I could be wrong about this)

RandomThorn

Completely agree with Arcane! It's still a fairly fresh and a VERY popular show that people still look for its reactions, and it's super short, so it can fit in between two larger series. I think it's the perfect choice to start off the 4th slot.

GeorgeYTG

Maybe you should do short show in priority. For exemple Arcane (9 épisodes) would last 3 months with an episode a week. Also watching hype/recent anime would help a bit I think (mob psycho, demon slayer...) or maybe anime as it's airing like chainsaw man.

Hassan

Movie reactions are a good way to bring in new viewers, and they’re not a huge time commitment. Several reaction channels I follow I found through movie reactions, and stayed for the tv show reactions.

Annie

I’m a believer that having ~1,000 dedicated supporters on Patreon is worth considerably more weight than having a few hundred thousand on YouTube. What you perceive as stagnation on a bigger scale must be discouraging to see, but stick with it!

elliot

Love the content as always Im! It's second to none, which is why I agree with you that you definitely deserve more... I know that Naruto is on your 'to watch list' - I know it's an extremely long series, but it has a very big and passionate fanbase and I know other reaction channels have benifitted from reacting to it. It's just a suggestion though - personally I really wanna see you reacting to it because i know One Piece is one of your favorites as well. I will support you no matter what you react to though, so keep up the amazing work!
